Millions face tax increases under Dems budget plan

Millions faced tax increases under Reagans plan.
We survived that too.

And the American public can survive never ending tax increases until we're paying more in taxes than we keep... right?

Where does it end? Thing is, obama has seen to it that it CAN'T. Not now. He and his liberal jack ass parade have spent so much fucking money, now comes the beginning of the end. Get ready. Things are about to get REAL INTERESTING.

The looming tax hikes result from the structure of President George W. Bush's 2001 and 2003 tax bills, whose provisions generally expire at the end of this year. Obama promises to fully extend them except for individuals earning more than $200,000 a year and couple making $250,000 a year.

That's federal income tax - of which only 50 percent pay. "Hidden taxes" on products are regressive. But keep drinking the Kool Aid.

Oh and most state taxes are rising. But that has nothing to do with the feds, right?

The article was about income tax, silly.

The states keep raising taxes because they've lost so much property tax revenue because of the financial meltdown. Have you been sleeping?

Don't think he was only referring to state taxes, ravi... if you think there will not be tax increases of the middle class on the federal level, you are really drinking the kool aid and fooling yourself

Talk about states raising taxes? If the right gets their wish on decreased federal spending.
Well you won't have seen anything. And the corruption will just be more distributed.

Just the facts, nothing partisan.

States are losing out on state income tax, state payroll tax and state sales tax becuase of high unemployemtn and less consumer spending

There's also another aspect: States are in a bind regarding cutting spending in response to lower tax receipts (I refuse to call them revenues) due to Unfunded Federal Mandates. If they do try to cut spending in one of these mandated ares, they are threatened with loss of funds for funded federal programs.

This is another reason to significantly reduce the scope of the Federal government - all of this one size fits all meddling in states is making responsible fiscal management much more difficult.

I'm sure Barry believes we really don't need that last dollar in our pockets, so he will have a tax for that soon enough.

Here's $4B more in tax increases:

Nearly 4 million Americans—the vast majority of them middle class—will have to pay the new penalty for not getting health insurance when President Barack Obama's health care overhaul law kicks in, according to congressional estimates released Thursday.

The penalties will average a little more than $1,000 apiece in 2016, the Congressional Budget Office said in a report.

Most of the people paying the fine will be middle class. Obama pledged in 2008 not to raise taxes on individuals making less than $200,000 a year and couples making less than $250,000.

Nearly 4M to pay health insurance penalty by 2016
