"We, the American people and honored veterans are
outraged by the senseless closure of our national war memorials. We
understand that many of these memorials are open 24 hours per day, seven
days per week with little or no staffing and were paid for with tax
payer funds.


We have a right to visit these sacred places and pay respects to those
that have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country.


We are outraged that our Vets have had to "storm" their own war
memorials - monuments that were already paid for with their blood,
sweat and tears.

Our memorials are supposed to be places of peaceful, solemn reflection.
They should not be places that our veterans have to fight to enter.


We demand that the memorials be re-opened, and that Congress introduce
legislation forbidding the shutdown of these memorials during any budget
disputes."

The organization for the million vet march that went down to the WWII memorial recently to show their displeasure with the actions of the government in a peaceful and non-partisan way, are furious and slamming the teabaggers for hijacking their event, even calling out Cruz and Palin by name for their cheap move to politicize the event.

I don't blame them as the teabaggers went completely apeshit like they already do, destroying government property, acting like animals, and one was arrest with a gun.

Causing the 'Government shutdown'.
Pushing the country to default.
Fighting against healthcare reforms that will benefit almost everyone.
Stepping all over the veterans' march for blatant political theatre.
Pissing off the big moneyed corporations and political funders.

It's not a good look to thinking people.

A government with easily 25% more people than we actually need.

A default that any sane person would see as needing to be paid off not added to.

Healthcare that is doubling or even worse all insurance costs, yet you seem to think is affordable.

The vets march was political, it's the entire reason they took over our monuments and moved the barrycades to the white house. You must have missed the reason they were there.

Try reading the link in the first post. The veterans groups specificly say that the people who spoke on Sunday were not speaking for them. Actually, the vets are standing up against the TP. Who is "their" as in "their petition"? The Military Coalition made up of 33 well known reputable groups have renounced any connection to the Sunday TP Palin, Cruz event. Who is this group you claim represents veterans?
