Millenials Not Joining the Military

Here's some frightening data:

A recruiter I spoke to believes that more than 70 percent of the “targeted recruiting age range” is not able to join due to issues with health, education, criminal background, and physical appearance preferences that do not adhere to military recruitment standards. They are generally not qualified for military service, even if they wanted to join.

And, from what I've read, if they do enlist, a lot of them simply do not possess the sense of responsibility to stick to what it takes to adapt to the military. So, those who do enlist and stick it out come from military families - turning the military into an inbred, mercenary force?

Cadet Bone Spurs is the role model and the cultural leader of America's Republican Party.

It's all yours. Deal with it.

It appears that Trump is the only draft dodger the left wants to denigrate. The rest of them are heroes to the left.

Lol.

Mark
The right denigrates people that did serve. Look how they view McCain now. Remember how they treated Kerry and Gore?

Mueller not smart enough to avoid Vietnam.

Military is often a stepping stone for women and men who have grown up in lower class families or situations. Americans pretend class doesn't exist but it surely does and the wealthy want no part of serving country. That's just where we are are as a nation. Can anyone really imagine Trump or family serving the nation as an example. An interesting read on class is: White Trash: The 400-Year Untold History of Class in America by Nancy Isenberg
I joined the military back in the late 1970's because not only did I want to serve my country and protect it from Communism, but also wanted to work on jets, to obtain skills, so I wouldn't be a liberal welfare queen. Today, I have amassed a small fortune (top 5%) able to fix just about anything, and now the Commies are in my country trying to take all that I have earned, so those who sit on their liberal asses can vote for the very people who keep them poor. Go figure.

couldn't get in to college, huh?
In College, You Live Like a Child. So You Wind Up With the Mind of a Child

Since college is little more than work without pay, it is for people who are afraid to grow up. I joined the Marines instead because I was afraid not to grow up. Americans are economic sissies.

Capitalism has been around for thousands of years, and has never failed on its own merits..

What is your definition of failure?

Failure is when an economic system fails to functionally perform all of the requirements of an economic system. Such as properly allocating resources and distributing goods and services efficiently and effectively.
If They Own a Man's Work, They Own That Man

A business is not private property. The owners are part of a team; it's not there to serve only them. Just like "their" employees, they should only be compensated according to how much they serve the business.

are you equating military service to living on welfare?

Um, the guy pretty much said that he sucked off the teet of the government his whole life, so... um, yeah, he's a welfare queen. He was just a welfare queen with a pretty uniform.

Not only are you sorry you are a liar. His post never said he worked his entire life for the government. And even if he did work for the gov, he WORKED! You bastards just make up shit and then parrot it as true.

Um, he said he joined the military to learn to work on jets and then spent most of his life either as a government contractor working on jets. (I've had other conversations with this moron). So he spends his whole life living on the government teet, but man, that single mom who got SNAP for a year is a total welfare queen, unlike him.

Considering just the shabby way our government treats its Vets, I tell kids NOT to join the US military.
`

I've got mixed feelings. I think I got a lot out of my service, but I wish today I had taken a different MOS and hadn't gotten involved in ROTC at all (What a waste that was.)

The military is fine if you go in with a focus on improving yourself and learning discipline.

A living wage? As opposed to what, a dead wage?

Guy, if you are too lazy to understand definitions, you should probably sit this one out, 'kay....

And? Trump also has been trying to start wars with people.

The National Guard is much more than NOT having served and paying a doctor to say you can't serve because of bone spurs on his feet that magically healed without surgery.

I think you are a bit confused.

The problem is form WWI to WWII, the National Guard was honorable service.. and after 1980, when they started taking it seriously again as a reserve component, it was.

But at the time Bush was in, the NG was notorious for "that place you go to avoid the real military". So the poor kids went to Vietnam and the rich kids maybe showed up to their National Guard drills. And when 1973 hit and they ended the draft, people got out of the Guard in DROVES.

you are anti-military....you are pissing on present and previous military personnel....
go to Somalia or some other shithole if you hate America so much

Guy, having a uniform doesn't make you a saint. I was in the Army for 11 years and served with some real dirtbags.

As I said, I find it hilarious that Androgenous or whatever his name is comes on here every day whining about welfare queens when he took advantage of government programs when he had the chance to. And for that matter, so did I.

..vets usually have medical insurance and don't rely on the government

Then why do we have a HUGE Veteran's Administration?

..I know when I was in, I put in a lot more, hard working hours than some civilian/government workers--so we were working but getting less wages--but we volunteered for it

You also got training, scholarship eligibility and a whole bunch of other programs like VA loans. But you are totally better than that poor mom who had to use SNAP for a couple of years.

What with all the faggots and dumbasses the libtard schools are turning out, it is not surprising. Soon the country will implode under the weight of all the do nothings that get paid for doing nothing at the expense of those who work.

Most poorpeople have jobs.

Simple enough solution. Provide a job for every American that pays a living wage. But give them real job protections.
Socialism has failed everywhere it has been tried, commie.

Mike you need to use the ignore function more. Acknowledging the idiots plays into their hand

I think you are a bit confused. We are a military volunteer country. Not everyone is right to serve in the military. Not everyone believes in killing another human being. Now with that said, we do have a responsibility to our country, and if we are drafted to defend it, we need to do it, and Donald Trump did everything within his power to avoid that, yet here he is being all willy nilly with other people's lives at stake.

I am getting sick and tired of this ignorant Leftist drivel. Donald Trump had a medical condition that disallowed him from serving like thousands of others. I am very familiar with enlistment standards and bone spurs are something that cannot get a medical waiver. If you have them - and his were PROVED - you can't serve. Period.

Don't be a dipshit. He had bone spurs... that suddenly cured themselves without surgery... after the war was over. Poof! Magic!

I agree, not every one is cut out for the military.

And I think that Trump is unfit to serve for a wide number of reasons.

But lack of military service isn't one of them.

I don't drag out a measuring stick because most of my 11 years in the service was pushing papers. The old joke we had was that if the Russians ever developed a bomb that destroyed paperwork, we were in big trouble.

Here's the thing. Obama didn't serve. Clinton didn't serve. Reagan served in a film unit, and Bush Jr. served in a fake National Guard Job.

Yeah, we've had some guys who were bonafide war heroes in the office, but that doesn't make them great presidents.

And I'd have no problem with that.

If he didn't bad mouth Gold Star Families, Veterans, POW's, make claims that he knows more about War than the generals, and so on.

you don't know if the PRESIDENTS bone spur fixed themselves so stop 'B.S. ing' Lew !!
