Michele Bachmann Granted Swiss Citizenship

If you can explain how one can avoid paying taxes on declared accounts, I'd love to hear it. Because it's ridiculous. I have an offshore account.... just like many other Americans - we are not 'avoiding' paying taxes... we are maximizing efficiency. It's no big deal - unless you are a petty, bitter individual.

Yea, I can appreciate how an idiot would find it funny. You tell me.... I'm a US Citizen. I earn income that does not come from the US. It is money that has never been in the US, has nothing to do with the US Government. It is earned on overseas investments. It has jack shit to do with the US Government.... UNTIL I bring it into the US. Then, it becomes the US Government's business... and it is then that I pay taxes on it. That is not fucking rocket science, at least it isn't to me... perhaps it is to you. That says more about you than it does about a perfectly legal system. As long as the account is declared (as is Romney's and as is mine)... there is no way money can be 'hidden'. Twit.

I do the same and thanks for explaining this to the ignorant pissants.

The latest is that she claims that she has been a dual-citizen since she married Marcus in the late 1970s.

If true, was her POTUS campaign legal?

Perhaps you will answer your own question by pointing out the requirements in the Constitution to be President.

There is nothing like giving up your US citizenship right before the government gets a chance to take a fortune away.

Facebook Co-Founder Saverin Gives Up U.S. Citizenship Before IPO - Bloomberg

Eduardo Saverin, the billionaire co- founder of Facebook Inc. (FB), renounced his U.S. citizenship before an initial public offering that values the social network at as much as $96 billion, a move that may reduce his tax bill.

Renouncing your citizenship well in advance of an IPO is “a very smart idea,” from a tax standpoint, said Avi-Yonah. “Once it’s public you can’t fool around with the value.”

so she got caught basically. You go to the Swiss if you don't want people seeing who you get money from. Since they have some of the strictest laws in the world. Whats funny is the fact she went to one of the most socialist nations on earth to open an account and ask for citizenship.
She didn't get caught at anything....If you had read the original L.A. Times piece, which you obviously didn't, spouses of Swiss immigrants to the US automatically have Swiss citizenship extended to them.
Here's Oddball again defending establishment Republican Neo-Cons who voted for everything that Bush wanted.

A true Libertarian would never stick up for Bachmann. A true Libertarian would want every entrenched politician from both Parties to be replaced, especially one as hypocritical as her.
I'm only pointing out what was reported, in black and white, in the L.A. Times, which you are oh-so conveniently ignoring like the hysterical hater that you are.

Good luck with trying to claim that the reporters and editors at L.A. Times are neocon defenders of Bachmann.

True but it makes it easier to hide and access

Only if one breaks the law. Americans are required, by law, to declare all overseas accounts. But you've never been one to stick to facts - you prefer to create facts. Lying hack.
What is the reason behind having a Swiss bank account? Avoiding U.S. taxes.

Pretty anti-American of Bishop Romney, wouldn't you say?

Has it occurred to you that one can open a bank account in America and/or in Switzerland AFTER she paid all taxes according to and in compliance with the law?

Of course those, who live from welfare check to welfare check can only dream about a Swiss bank account and envy smart and law-abiding and industrious people who have one.

Negatory.

The Continuing Criminal Enterprise known as the US of A --UNCONSTITUTIONALLY ADOPTED the "Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act" which essentially prevents Americans from opening foreign accounts.

Hitlerian, aint it?
