Michael Moore: Know who you give your money to...

Hows it changed?

People voluntarily go to internet cafes (something unheard of 16 months ago) rather than being forced to go to torture chambers. Women have positions of power in government rather than being pulled from their homes or schools to be raped. Ironically, a bastard dictator has the right to a fair trial rather than having his hands cut off or his tongue cut out just because some guy said so.

That's just a few little things off the top of my head.

Are these the same guys that get there houses searched and ramsacked at night? Or the ones that had gone without water or electricity. For the Iraqi population that supports US they seem to get nice benefits, except for the fact they are targetted daily by attacks.

That's a crock. The only person to get their home ramsacked was the guy that was in with Iran, and that was led by the Iraqi police, not the U.S. The internet cafe was even featured in a special on the liberal loving MTV, so I'll end your right wing conspiracy there. There have been problems with electricity and water, imagine that. Twenty years of neglect by Saddam and three wars will do that. Just like the schools and hospitals, improvements are being made.

I suggest you go somewhere besides 60 minutes or buzzflash.com for your information. You might actually get an unbias report.

Theres been something wrong with 60 mins for years. where have you been?

Perhaps video stores should have a section for propaganda films.
What is the difference between a documentary and propaganda?
Under which category would Moore's film fall?

No, not at all. Unless you count their sloppy research, biased editing, and misleading reporting.

I have first hand knowledge of facts and circumstances regarding two stories done by 60 minutes some years ago. In both cases the "facts" reported by 60 minutes had very little resemblance to the truth.

I think it ought to be in the adult XXX section, because it would be more accurately tittled "Fuck America".

Hannity and Colmes would be a good start. It would give you both sides of the spectrum to view at the same time. Unless you feel that Alan Colmes is a Right Wing conspirator acting as a left wing pundit.

If his views arent 'right' enogh for you, then okay. But at least they try, or pertend to try.

In a Free market a person creates a product or a service that people want. People then pay the price they are willing to have it for. If the person creating the product raises the price, people either pay more or find a cheaper alternative. Thus competition keeps prices low, cost inexpensive and quality high.

In a socialist economy, A product is created by the government and handed out to all the people. The taxes that the govenrment collects pays for this product. The product is often inferior in quality how ever due to the lack of competition in the market to demand a better product. People receive an inferior product with the guise that its free but they still pay for it either way through taxes to the government.

Hhmmm I see. So how does universal health care, and public education, elimint, or threaten the precious competition?

If health care is provided by the government, there is no need for privatized businesses to run it. Therefore no more competition. Everyone gets some healthcare but at what cost? More for some people less for others but everyone pays for it still. The quality also goes down. Instead of seeing a doctor that you've known for years, you get a generic doctor that is appointed to you at the time that it is most convienant for the government to give him to you. Something as simple as the Flu might take months before you see a doctor at which point, you probably arent sick anymore. Something like a transplant or a surgery could take the same amount of time despite the urgency of your needs. Others have been on the list before you and need to be treated before you.

Public Education is the same way. Right now its all government funded. How are inner city schools that recieve more and more funding each year? I wouldn't send anyone i knew to one unless i really didnt like that person. I definitely wouldnt want my kids going there because i wouldn't feel like they were getting a good education to better themselves in the world. If i send my kids to private school though, I'm still paying for other kids to goto school. In a totally socialist regime, you wouldn't have the option to send your kids to a BETTER school. You'd be assigned a school regardless of what you feel is best. Again the government taking care of you.

If you privatize the education system, you can create competition. This will increase the quality of the schools because if the owners want to make money, they will need to make it an attractive place to go. It will also lower tuition costs. Parents will look for the best school with the best price. Schools competing against each other would need to set a fair market value in order to attract enrollment. Most importantly, The school pays for itself. No funding is needed from the public to run the school. Therefore, everyone isnt unwillfully paying to send someone elses kid to school.

Minimal government help would be needed. Education needs partial government help in order to keep people from taking advantage of poorer neighborhoods. Same with healthcare. You also have the same regulations on monopolies. But you don't have the government being the babysitter for everyone while everyone else pays them to do it.

See the difference?

So we are going to let large coporations to run health care and education? Because you nkow they think of their fellow man, and not dollars and cents. We can all have a Mc education, and if we get hurt, Wal-mart can be there to give us the lowest possible care there is, everyone wins!
