MEXICO CITY - Mexicans would be allowed to possess small amounts of cocaine, heroin, even ecstasy for their personal use under a bill approved by lawmakers that some worry could prove to be a lure to young Americans

The bill now only needs President Vicente Fox's signature to become law and that does not appear to be an obstacle. His office said that decriminalizing drugs will free up police to focus on major dealers

Yet another reason to build that wall on the border.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents seized about $5.6 million of cocaine after the inspection of a tractor trailer on the World Trade International Bridge that connects Laredo, Texas, and Nuevo Laredo, Mexico on January 30, the agency said Thursday.

After seizing the drugs, CBP handed over the investigation to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Homeland Security Investigations special agents.

"Our CBP officers' knowledge of concealment methods and the technology they utilized on a daily basis played a key role in the discovery of these hard narcotics," Laredo Port of Entry Director Gregory Alvarez said in a statement released Thursday.

The thing is, cocaine and other drugs being transported into the United States aren't really what the police are looking for, they are looking for US currency crossing the border into Mexico. Bundles of dead presidents. When they confiscate the cash they can use it to militarize the border.
