Sounds like it's time for the long-ass fence on the border and shoot to kill:

They are indeed a hostile country towards the USA:

Mexico's help with terrorists? Not unless U.S. enacts reforms
Ex-foreign minister testifies before senators, says cooperation will come at cost of amnesty

In what is being characterized as international blackmail, the former foreign minister of Mexico has told a Senate committee his nation will not cooperate with the U.S. on border-security issues unless a number of immigration-related action is taken – including amnesty for illegal aliens.

On Tuesday, former Mexican Foreign Minister Jorge Castaneda told a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing: "No border security is possible without Mexican cooperation" and "there can be no cooperation [from the Mexican government] without some sort of immigration reform package."

According to a report by the Federation for American Immigration Reform, or FAIR, Castaneda, now a professor at New York University, went on to describe immigration reform as amnesty for all Mexicans living illegally in the U.S., the admission of some 5 million additional Mexican citizens to the U.S. over the next 10 years, and massive increases in U.S. aid to that country.

The official said if such reform is enacted, Mexico would offer "tough" but "non-coercive" assistance in the effort to prevent terrorists from entering the U.S. via Mexico.

"Jorge Castaneda is not some obscure voice from Mexico's distant political past," commented Dan Stein, president of FAIR. "He served as foreign minister in the current Mexican administration. It is imperative that the Fox government issue a formal repudiation of Castaneda's remarks and assure the American public that their cooperation in the war against terrorism will not come at the price of extortion."

Stein hammered the senators on the committee for not challenging Castaneda during his testimony.

"When anyone, much less a former foreign minister of a supposedly friendly nation, comes before a committee of the United States Senate and issues ultimatums and thinly veiled threats against the United States, one would expect outrage and condemnation from members of Congress. Instead, we got meek acquiescence or deafening silence from the members who were present," said Stein. "If the government of Mexico is not prepared to join us in this struggle, without conditions, then they cannot claim to be an ally and our government must view them as such. Allies do not engage in extortion."

FAIR is calling on the Bush administration and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to formally protest Castaneda's demands with the Mexican government.

The organization decried the timing of Castaneda's testimony as concern about terror attacks on U.S. soil is heightened in the wake of last week's London bomb blasts.

Terrorism experts believe the Mexican border has been the means countless terrorists have used to enter the U.S. As WorldNetDaily first reported, captured al-Qaida leaders and documents show that a terrorist plan called "American Hiroshima" involves the multiple detonation of nuclear weapons already smuggled into the U.S. Those weapons came over the Mexican border with the help of the MS-13 street gang and other organized crime groups.

It's like an old joke Steve Martin used to tell.

You know the best way to stop people from parking illegally?

The death penalty.

I say we start shooting anyone who crosses the border into the United States illegally.

Now, before anyone gets their panties in a wad. Trust me, it wouldn't take long for the crossings to stop. Once everyone saw that we were serious, they wouldn't chance it.

vote that they will accept being bullied by a third world shithole neighbor. In addition the politicians, especially Republicans, so fear the "racist" label that they bend over backwards and do nothing about illegal immigrants. But I sniff a change in the wind. This will be changed by a grassroots upwelling of Americans just damned fed up with being overrun by Mexican illegals. No more PC nice guy bullshit. This harms our economy and threatens our national security. The pols in Washington are going to rue the day they decided, and believe me they have decided, to do NOTHING about illegal immigration. One attack from a terrorists that slipped into the country through our southern border and the shit is going to hit the fan. Damn I'm tired of this. If we can't get a handle on securing our border with third world socialist shithole Mexico we deserve any attack that comes by that route. Oh and Vincente Fox can fucking kiss my ass!!! Fucking corrupt peckerwood.

This is actually a for-real bipartisan issue. BOTH parties are terrified of the repurcussions of any action taken toward securing the border and denying illegals entry.

Mexico has a big stake in this because a Mexican can come up here and work tax-free for six months, and either send money home, or take it with him and live well for the other six months. They come up here and live 5-6 to a two bedroom apartment, and basically exist in a communist environment. They split expenses down the middle on everything.

I've watched 5-6 of them walk into a supermarket in the morning. One buys the bread, the other the cheese, the other the twelve packs of sodas, the other the chips, etc. And this goes on regularly, every morning, in almost all supermarkets and convenience stores here. They put as little into our economy as possible and take the rest home.

In the meantime, if their kid happens to be born while both mother and father are illegally here, all fo a sudden a whole world of social programs is available to them and they don't contribute a dime to it.

I'd man the border, build a huge wall, and mine it for 100 yards on either side. If one wants to cross the border LEGALLY, use the gate.

This is true they send almost all their money back home. Only citizens should be allowed the benifits of living in this country. Unfortunately the immigration laws have changed in this country since 911 making it harder for people who want to get in legaly to actually do so.

Unfortunately, it has done nothing to stem the tide of illegals crossing our Southwestern borders.

And sorry, but I have no empathy toward anyone in this country illegally. We have to obey our laws or go to prison. Illegal immigrants just get deported, and like as not, will be back with weeks.

When every US citizen has a job, THEN I'll worry about the yard next door.

Well, I got on my soapbox.

I am displeased with the US Government as a whole on this topic. Neither side has done squat about it. I DO think it's just mroe dirty pool that the left has tried to lay this on Bush, when he inherited his predecessor's inactivity. And I'm not in turm layin git on Clinton.

As far back as Johnson (that's as far back as my memory goes), not much has been done. The current situation is a direct result of THAT.

HEAR HEAR!! Excellent rant!!
How can Mexico do ANYTHING to blackmail the U.S.? We can close the damn border without any help from anyone. The trouble is, we don't want to.
You might find this difficult to believe, but a former Mexican activist in Los Angeles has called for closing the border. He noted that many former Mexican citizens (including my aunt, by the way), came to the U.S. legally in the 80s and 90s and went through the process. Their jobs are now being stolen by illegal immigrants willing to work for half of what the now legals are earning.
He has called for the Bush Administration to give all illegal immigrants 60 days to go back to Mexico. After that, the borders will be closed. Any illegals caught after that will be deported, and their employers fined.
Unfortunately, this talk has been his last. He has been threatened with death by both illegal Mexican criminals in the country AND by companies looking to protect their source of cheap labor.
That is what you are REALLY looking at -- political pressure from border state politicos and companies looking to cut cost. Many pay their illegal employees in cash, to avoid taxes and conceal the fact they are paying substandard wages.

One last question -- whenever a dispute arises here about other nationalities, why is your first option always to kill them?

Excellant analysis---same is happening in Texas. The legal Hispanics are highly pissed at the illegals taking thier jobs and big business wants the cheap labor. Neither party has any interest in stopping the flow of illegals.Only a few will even speak against it but they just love to blab about how security needs to be tightened. Cheap talk to look "concerned".

There's more to it than money though. Neither side wants to alienate the Hispanic vote. While not huge in its own right, they are still powerful enough to swing an election as close as the last two have been.

That's definately a big part of it, the other part is no one wants to seem politically incorrect which confounds me as what is the problem enforcing LEGAL immigration. This is one of the areas I am really disappointed in Bush

LOL ...I've been WAITING to get called a racist for my remarks, when I'm nothing of the sort. But I have to call them as I see them. If it was white people from Canada behaving in like manner, I'd feel the same.

As I said, it isn't just Bush. It's been every President at least in my memory, probably farther back than that. Illegals never posed the threat to our social infrastructure they do now.

Not to mention AQ could march across out Southewestern border in force and we'd probably never know until they struck.
