This is the last straw! Even you liberal douche bags have to be pissed at this! Illegal immigration puts a strain on State budgets (see how fuck up sanctuary State CA is), kills school systems, kills hospitals, steals jobs from American workers and unequally contributes to crime, gang violence and the prison population! And way too many Illegal immigrates and Mexican nationals want to absorb the American Southwest in Mexico!

Its bull shit!

Mexican Tariffs on American Goods? - Politics
Mexican Tariffs on American Goods?

Mexican has tariffs on goods, which come into its country from the United States. The tariffs in many cases are 50%. This is said to help Mexico's economy. But if you look at all the money being shipped to Mexico each week by migrant and illegal alien workers you see a much different issue brewing. You see their economy growing and not very much money coming back for US Goods in trade. Thus we are upside down in the trade deficit.

Since Mexico will not cooperate in curbing the drug trade into the United States to any large degree and they will not extradite felons which have committed murder in the United States for a fair trial here; we need to charge a 50% export tax on money leaving our country to Mexico. Surely such a radical departure in policy will immediately trigger Mexico to reduce or eliminate entirely that 50% import tax on American goods.

Free trade is fair trade and there is nothing fair about a lopsided import tax system on one side of the equation. The lower or voided out import tax on American goods to Mexico will trigger better quality of life, lower prices and better quality merchandise for Mexican citizens.

The United States is far to lenient on such nations with lopsided trade policies. When we sit down at the trade table and everyone starts talking about level playing fields we need to be firm and slam our fists down on the table when the BULL starts flying our way about how America is greedy or does not care. Sure we do, if these other countries would get rid of their own corruption they would not need such an advantage. The truth is when we lend money to these nations the top tier families steal it and no significant infrastructure is built. Before anyone points a finger at this great nation, they need to get their own greed and corruption figured out on their side of the fence. If they did that maybe we would not need a fence in the first place; think on it. One estimate was 15 Billion dollars per month was going being sent to Mexico from labor here. The export their labor yet we are charged when we export products? What gives? The products that we export do not need public services, like their labor does when it comes here? The trade deficit with Canada and Mexico is said to be 100 Billion per year.

They're protecting domestic industries - good for them. We should be doing the same thing.

They are the one the reap the most benefits off of NAFTA and they just clearly violated it! The do nothing to respect the border in fact the push many of their citizens to the US SW for the reconquistadora! Do you know how hard it is to get citizenship as a foreigner in Mexico, even if your born in Mexico. The double standard the Mexicans have toward American is amazing! We need to protect the border, change the birth right clause in the 14th amendment, build a solid 3 layer fence, start punishing business owner, landlords etc who sell out of illegals and tariff those bastards back!

The Mexicans used it as a "retalitory" measure because we won't let Mexican trucks cross the border uninhibited! Guess what they wouldn't let our trucks do the same thing! 1/4 of Mexican trucks coming over the border carry illegals (including some terrorist) and 1/4 carry drugs and maybe 50% are legitimate.

Time for Obama to talk tough, not his pantsy talk that he is doing now! He should say hey wet-backs if you are going to slap this tarriff on us, the US is going to take you out of the NAFTA, finish constructing the fence on the board, stop providing free health care to your people, we'll start deporting your citizens at unpresented levels, start taxing every dollar that is transfered back to Mexico by you citizens working in American and lastly we will start to tarriff the shit out every shitty product you make.

But Obama is going to go over their and say we will give in and even not complete the border fence! And give a public apology in the UN!

The United States is and has been violating international trade laws for 15 years. NAFTA allows for Mexican trucks into the country but the US keeps blocking their entry because the Teamsters don't want the competition. Mexico is merely responding as nations do when the violating country refuses to abide by the agreement they signed into law. If you're upset about Mexico slapping tariffs on US goods, then write Congress and tell them to stop violating their own law.

Mexico is the main one benefiting from NAFTA! The Mexicans want their trucks not be be search and not to comply with US compliance or US wage laws!

The wetbacks made the first strike, we need to respond!

By Tarriff Wars you mean Smoot-Harley Tarriff Act? That was against the Western Europe, big difference!

America didn't tariff Mexico. They just banned them.

At least with a tariff, American goods will still be sold in Mexico.

whooptyfuckingdo. why is it that capitalistas never get into trade deficits when spouting on about how nafta cripples America?

America’s trade deficit hits all-time high

America’s trade deficit hits all-time high - Stocks & economy- msnbc.com

America’s trade deficit set records with much of the rest of the world as well. Among those records was a $122.4 billion gap with the 25-nation European Union, a $92.7 billion deficit with the nations that belong to the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, a $76.5 billion deficit with Canada and a $50.1 billion deficit with Mexico. Canada and Mexico are America’s partners in the North American Free Trade Agreement. The deficit with the countries of South and Central America rose to a record $50.7 billion last year.

Trade Deficit Spikes To Record
Dec. 14, 2005
Critics blame the soaring trade deficits for a loss of 3 million manufacturing jobs since mid-2000 and they argue that Bush's push to strike free trade agreements eliminating all trade barriers between the United States and other nations has opened American workers to unfair competition from low-wage countries.

The United States set deficit records with most of its major trading partners including a $12.1 billion imbalance with the 25-nation European Union, a $8.1 billion imbalance with Canada, the country's largest trading partner, and a record $4.8 billion deficit with Mexico.

It's zero difference.

And the "wetbacks" were not the first to respond. Mexico is reacting to the US's continuous violation of international trade law. America is breaking the law. Period. Now, Mexico is retaliating as given under provisions of the WTO.

Why don't you post something that isn't 1000 days old?

The U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, through the Department of Commerce, announced today that total January exports of $124.9 billion and imports of $160.9 billion resulted in a goods and services deficit of $36.0 billion, down from $39.9 billion in December, revised. January exports were $7.6 billion less than December exports of $132.5 billion.

Trade Deficit Narrows in January - Economy

Ah, but it has shrank considerably because of the recession. Sure is good that the trade deficit fell!

The Department of Homeland Security says it will cost over $20 Billion annually to comply with congress mandated 100% container inspections at our ports. This does not include the cost of inspections at our border crossings. This cost should not fall on taxpayers. We should impose an import fee to cover this cost just as we have to pay TSA fee to board a plane, otherwise we are subsidizing imports while other countries are taxing our exports.

I also wonder how much of our drop in exports during the depression were due to the dust bowl reducing the crops we had available to export & how much was due to the depression hurting foreigners ability to consume our exports as opposed to Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act being solely responsible for the drop in exports?

Sorry it has taken me 3 years to respond to this. They are not free to do what they want in the face of NAFTA!!! NAFTA is a treaty that supercedes their ability to craft laws in the face of it!
