As I posted in another thread, It is time for Europe to beat its own path just as other world regions are doing and detach itself from reliance on the USA.

America cannot be the Global policeman. America cannot be the Global welfare officer either. It is neither sustainable nor logical.

What America can do is sell these countries weapons so they can protect themselves. That in turn helps American manufacturing and Jobs Jobs Jobs for American workers.

President Trump is pursuing the right strategy, he is putting America first just as he promised to do.

Don't really care. Germany is not an aggressive warmongering state anymore. IF they really think they need nukes to deter Putin,

we certainly could do nothing to stop them.

A big chunk of our military spending is maintaining our military abroad. If we brought them home, then we don't need to spend as much on the military. Yet Trump wants to spend more on our military. We spend more than enough to protect the homeland. If people think we need to withdraw from the world, then we need to spend less on the military, not more. But that's not what Trump is proposing.

You didn't answer my question. I'll try to restate it. One of the policies I agree with is vetting immigrants. The example I used was letting someone into your house. Before you let them in, you want to know who they are and what they want. Before you let your child date someone you want to meet them. You want to get a feel for the person. So restricting the people who enter our collective house seems a reasonable extension of this common sense precaution.

Now why are the collective concerns as expressed by the President about the influx of immigrants under the open door policy of Merkel not enough to worry Germany? If I am supposed to be very moved by German opinion why isn't Germany supposed to care about my opinion? Migrant crime in Germany rises by 50 per cent, new figures show

You see. You can't have it both ways. You denounce the influence of Putin while denouncing the lack of influence of Merkel. Merkel can't cut us off from the International Space Station. Merkel can't launch nuclear weapons at us. Merkel can't sink our carriers. Merkel can cut off some damned fine automobiles.

So what does Merkel want. She wants us to take on more Immigrants. The same immigrants that have caused a fifty percent increase in crime.

Merkel wants to keep paying next to nothing for their defense. Fact. Germany has 62,000 soldiers while we have half that many in the country right now and have the plans, equipment, and personnel to more than double the US forces in the country in a few days.

So we are prepared and paying to be able to take over the lions share of defense of Germany. Why? NATO was intended to be a mutual defense organization. Not a situation where America was the valiant protector of any of the members. Poland has twice as many active duty personnel as Germany. Poland doesn't expect to stand back and let us fight if they are threatened. Why doesn't Merkel care about our thoughts on this issue?

Don't bet on it. Western Europeans have been playing the US for a fool for many years. All at the expense of American Taxpayers. I really was happy to see Trump rip em on NATO support. They're not doing enough. If they want NATO around, they'll have to do more. Otherwise, i'm fine with disbanding NATO all-together.
