The New England Compounding Center, the company responsible for selling tainted injectables which has so far resulted in the death of 23 people and the endangering of thousands more, was caught by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy once again violating safety standards in 2006. They had been caught before and complaints had been made, but the state regulatory board did nothing about it.

In 2006, however, the offenses were so egregious that the Board, then headed by George Cayer, a Romney appointee in 2004, called them to account, but then allowed the company to continue endangering the public because taking action against them would have hurt their profits and potentially put them out of business. Instead of making them clean up their act, Cayer granted them a one year probation which was stayed and no fines or other action was taken.

When the GOP talks about "business friendly" regulation, this is what they mean. Putting corporate profits ahead of public safety. And, they've done it consistently in states where they hold a majority. In Oklahoma, for instance, now Gov. Mary Fallin ran in part on a campaign pledge to put industry representatives right inside the state regulatory agencies, so that those so-called "stakeholders" could make sure health, safety and environmental regulations would be "fair" to business.

Well..what about fairness for the victims of such a scheme? Do the folks who have died from meningitis even register on their screen? After all, if a few people die to ensure corporate profits, what's wrong with that.....right?

Go ahead. Put Mitt Romney and the GOP back into power and see if more of this doesn't happen. You can't let the foxes guard the henhouse without losing some chickens, and the next chicken lost to corporate greed and government coziness might be you or one of your kids or grandkids.

By the way...guess what George Cayer does now? He's the VP of Operations for a mail-order, compounding pharmacy called Injured Workers Pharmacy LLC, in Andover, MA. In other words, he's in the VERY SAME BUSINESS as the New England Compounding Center he once let off the hook!

The revolving door just keeps on turning and turning.

Wonder why people are not emphasizing this Romney connection. You think they fear it would be opening Pandora's box?

Big Pharma sells all sorts of unsafe drugs and vaccines that are FDA and AMA Approved. But blaming any one politician for it is just stupid.

Internal Memo Confirms Big Giveaways In White House Deal With Big Pharma
A memo obtained by the Huffington Post confirms that the White House and the pharmaceutical lobby secretly agreed to precisely the sort of wide-ranging deal that both parties have been denying over the past week.

There's nothing in your link that says or implies this. However, it does say that in 2006 investigators found a bunch of problems WHICH WERE FIXED IN THAT YEAR. So, IOW you are a fuckin' liar.

Now Romney is the root cause of Meningitis.:lol::lol::lol: Boy... That's a stretch.

So, the new Obama narrative is.... Obama wants to kill Big Bird, has binders of women and causes meningitis?

Lib desperation, by the way Biden won too, you just dont hear from him anymore.

I hate to do this....but I agree....It's just like the "horses and bayonets" shit that the right is pulling....let's not forget the thread on the "unnamed source" that has Obama selling cocaine....

Oh wait....it's OK when you guys do it? Shit, didn't know that.

People have stopped paying attention to democrats already. They can scream about any bit of trivia they want, it's still nothing but background noise.

The screaming democrat baby will eventually cry itself to sleep.
