Element Power, a renewable energy company headquartered in Portland, has received a permit to build an approximately 12 megawatt solar photovoltaic facility on leased lands in the community of Christmas Valley in Lake County.
Glenn Montgomery, executive director of the Oregon Solar Industries Association, said the Lake County Planning Commissions 5-1 vote on Tuesday night in favor of a conditional use permit for the project makes it the largest solar energy project ever permitted in the state.
