Meet The Press: Obama Campaign Manager says "We must raise the debt ceiling......"

You're full of shit.

I just don't believe Repubs are equipped, do not have the will or capacity to fix it. Everyone used to know that one way to get jobs back for instance, was to fix healthcare and costs of providing people with that. You all are fighting that tooth and nail, clinging to the status quo and big insurance. There was no response to the healthcare problem except no. The party of no strategy.

They need to get the hell off their butts and start working on policies that work. Not filling the pockets of Republicans in congress and big corporations.

Doesn't Obamacare put something like 30 million into that 'big insurance' pool? Wasn't that (part of) the point of passing it?

You're completely dishonest when you say that the Republicans only offered 'no' when it came to the health care reform.

Oh they offered nothing but no alright. That's only because they had nothing tho..

:lame2: You're more of a hack that I thought, Sarah.

Thank you for confirming that you put zero effort into keeping informed about the issue. Many excellent ideas were put forth by the GOP, only to be disregarded by "The Won".

Try reading something besides Daily Kos.

Comon people, your assertions that they've done a lot to further policies that would create jobs, help the economy, balance the budget, help America move forward and become the world power they used to be has fizzled..

Oh sure, now we Must raise the Debt Ceiling. Gee,how convenient. Go back and look at these morons' pompous speeches on raising the Debt Ceiling when an 'R' was in the White House. Check em out if you want a good laugh. Pelosi,Reid, and this current President have been despicable douchebags on this issue. Now all of a sudden "We must raise the Debt Ceiling." What a bleepin scam.

Bush Administration Adds $4 Trillion To National Debt

With no fanfare and little notice, the national debt has grown by more than $4 trillion during George W. Bush's presidency.

It's the biggest increase under any president in U.S history.

On the day President Bush took office, the national debt stood at $5.727 trillion. The latest number from the Treasury Department shows the national debt now stands at more than $9.849 trillion. That's a 71.9 percent increase on Mr. Bush's watch.

The bailout plan now pending in Congress could add hundreds of billions of dollars to the national debt – though President Bush said this morning he expects that over time, "much if not all" of the bailout money "will be paid back."

But the government is taking no chances. Buried deep in the hundred pages of bailout legislation is a provision that would raise the statutory ceiling on the national debt to $11.315 trillion. It'll be the 7th time the debt limit has been raised during this administration. In fact it was just two months ago, on July 30, that President Bush signed the Housing and Economic Recovery Act, which contained a provision raising the debt ceiling to $10.615 trillion.

Hypocrites. 7 times they raised the debt ceiling as of September. 2008.

"Hypocrites?" Check out your Hopey Changey One's pompous speeches on how awful raising the Debt Limit was back when an 'R' was in the White House. He Voted against it. But now he's suddenly all for it and we must do it. Talk about hypocrisy? Yikes!

There's no question they have to raise it now. You're placing all of this on Obama is ludacris as always..

David Plouffe, Obama's Senior Adviser and campaign manager said several things that I couldn't believe. One of them really stuck out.

He said that we must raise the debt ceiling from time to time.

Excuse Me!!!

Is it official Obama policy to go deeper and deeper in debt? Am I getting this right???

Oh my GAAAAAWWWD!!!! He said WHAAAAT??!!!

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Calm down, dude. The debt ceiling has to be raised. If it is not, the US defaults on its debt. If that happens, the effect on the US economy could be devastating. Is that what you want to happen? Only ignorant Teabags think it's ok not to raise it. But please, genius,
tell us your solution.
This ought to be grand. :cuckoo:

Cut spending.

Who had control of Congress?

We keep having to give Libs a lesson in civics.

I remember all the pressure that was put in Bush from congress. He proposed spending billions on this and billions on that and the Democrats only had one response.......

.......It doesn't go far enough.

The Dems sent him shit spending bills. He warned them not to send him protest legislation and that's all he got. They used their media to find chipped paint and mildew in Walter Reed and they attacked him for it. Because of the media's constant claims he wasn't taking care of the troops he had to totally rearm them. He spent billions up-armoring Humvees. Everything that happened, every natural disaster became Bush's fault and they used it to force him into spending billions he wouldn't have spent otherwise. And the Democrats passed every spending bill he signed.

The Repubs in the House have still more work ahead of them. I know they're not used to it. Being the obstructionist party of no was easy.

And all the while NONE of what they propsed when the Democrats had both houses and the Executive were ever considered...while being told 'We Won"...

And as to the Executive? Obama constantly reminded the Repubs that HE WON...and they could come along for the ride but had to 'sit in the back..."

Really Sarah? Obstructionist?

Starting over is better than fucking our kids over in the debt of past generations, isnt it?

And that is not my solution, but it is better than digging the hole deeper and deeper if that scenario occurs. I'd rather just see a balanced budget. Even that is too much to ask.

Sending the nation into another recession is not a good solution. In fact, it's the worst thing we could do right now. If you want to see a balanced budget, look back to 2000. Clinton left it; Bush spent it.

And the Republican Congress passed it so Clinton could take credit for it.

so your basic issue isnt that the repubs dont get along, or that they spent way too much during the Bush times...

...its that you dont see the debt as a problem to be fixed.

You're full of shit.

how do the demonRats in congress get rich? doyathink? we'll wait.

The last two Democrat Presidents were reasonably dirt-poor only a few years before they were sent to the Oval Office. The Clintons didn't even have a home of their own. Obama couldn't get anyone to let him in the door at the 2000 Democratic Convention. He and Michelle were close to splitting up. For some reason they get rich as shit before they leave office.

Harry Reid the Nevada gaming commish. His family controls Nevada. He's worth $5 million declared.
Nancy Pelosi has grape orchards in the Napa Valley, and factories in American Samoa. She's worth around $40 million.
John Kerry is worth $400 million.
Jay Rockefeller is worth $120 million.
In 2004 Obama was worth $300,000. Now he's worth in the millions. Nobody knows how much.
Their friends are millionaires and billionaires. It doesn't make sense that they would want to cut their own throats.

I'm tired of liberals constantly telling us how these people are fighting for the poor because it's total bs.

Oh, and just to be fair, Joe Biden is broke.

While they KEEP the poor such as the POOR vote for them...and by poor I mean dependent...

What a viscious circle the Statists perpetrate. *By design* explicitly for the perpetually stupid.

Anyone who is paying attention can see that they have no incentive to help the poor become Middle Class. If you want to help someone out of poverty, give them the financial support and training to start their own business. You don't just give em stuff.

Exactly. Then they will demand it while NOT respecting where it came from.
