And the Republicans want no cuts there.
Republicans are a dysfunctional bunch now. Used to be they correctly LED THE CHARGE demanding vast cuts in these run away programs.
In 14 years Medicare and Social Security will be 65% of the entire budget.
Only a dumb ass would claim publicly we should not slash those programs.
I saw again today on TV tea partiers at their party with signs "No cuts to Medicare"
I pity those ignorant bastards.

Republicans are just not very good at math. McCain went around moaning about $3 million telescopes, but then tried to add back $400 billion of medicare cuts Obama proposed in the health care bill.

Best thing they do is block Obama's atrocious legislation. Don't know that we want a GOPer in the White House anytime soon though. Gridlock is better than Bush was, or McCain would have been.

McCain in place of Bush for 8 years or Obama now would have been okay with me.

I have Libertarian tendencies, but find a lot the L party to be crazy and impractical. And I'm not into the "end the Fed" Ron Paul stuff.

Best way to limit government is to combine a Dem President with a GOP Congress.
