Medical Questionaire

What fucking doctor are YOU going to? The hospital verified that I had an appropriate child seat for Quinlan before they signed him out after I gave birth to him. Apparently, there's a law in our state that requires that, and there's actually a good reason for asking: they'll provide you with one if you don't have one and can't afford it. Our family doctor has NEVER asked me about his car seat or our car. I'm not sure if he knows whether we even HAVE a car. Likewise, he has NEVER asked us if we own a fire extinguisher, smoke detectors, outlet protectors, etc. He doesn't ask if we own a pool or hot tub, despite drowning being the number one cause of death for children under the age of 5 in my state.
You think the only reason they ask about child seats is so they can give you one if you can't afford it?

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Yeah, you know how much people love handing out freebies just for the heck of it. It didn't dawn on you that THE VERY REASON they give them out to people is because children DIE without them? It didn't cross your mind that child seats are a SAFETY issue and the REASON they ask? You never realized that the American Academy of Pediatrics regularly releases statements on car seats and safety? And fire safety? and gun safety? Your questionable GP doesn't ask these questions, so therefore you know better than the largest and most trusted authority on child health. HAHAHAHA. I don't blame you for being wary of GPs diagnosing depression, if they're not even providing basic health prevention services. Is your GP a doctor? And do you take your children to that person for yearly physicals?

One would hope that it explains that GPs have no business trying to act like mental health specialists.
you mean, you personally don't understand something and therefore think you know better than the US Preventive Services Task Force, the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, and the American College of Preventive Medicine. Wow. Every single major medical society that makes recommendations for primary care doctors completely disagrees with your hick reasoning. Remind me where you got your medical education again?

and you think doctors should ask about chairs in households because of that reasoning? perhaps they should ask about nerf products too?

show me the evidence that shows this is practically happening and warrants a doctor's attention at a routine physical.

Never said it did. You're the one who's making the assertion that only specific questions (one in particular which may or may not be part of a political agenda) should be asked for the safety of children. Knowing full well that children die accidentally from a myriad of hazards why aren't doctors asking all those questions as well?

Oh yeah........... politics........

Health Care Professionals to Lawmakers: Stop Gun Violence

well, no. this is your assertion. doctors ask about common prevention health issues. floors for children is not one of them, so it's not asked. guns is one of them, so it is asked. so are fire related issues, and automobile injury issues. Thus the trend is to ask about things that in reality, not in your personal reasoning, have actually been documented as posing health risks. Guns ACTUALLY pose health risks to children.

When floors are responsible for 10 American children dying a year, you'd have a better claim. We're talking hundreds.

Let's put it another way: do you believe children should have access to loaded guns? If no, do you believe it is reasonable to prevent children from having such access?

Depends on the age and ability of the child. I was taught how to handle a firearm at age eight and the weapons were never locked up.
As for your dismissive deflection...... well, we know why..... Enjoy your crusade.....

It's always such a pleasure to talk to someone who doesn't understand English. Oh, wait, it's not.

I'm really enjoying your "Look, all these OTHER people enjoy being micromanaged like children the way I do, so that makes it okay" dissertation, but it doesn't actually change anything I've said.

That's okay, though, because I can see that you didn't actually UNDERSTAND anything I said. Explains a lot about why you need other people to act as your nannies.

so in light of hundreds of children dying each year from gun related injuries, do you feel it appropriate for 8 year olds to have easy access to loaded guns? Just because you were brought up that way and survived, do you feel its a good idea to allow for that risk that results in hundreds of deaths each year?

I like how I pointed out every major medical authority uses evidence and educated reasoning to completely disagree with everything you've said about the role of general practitioners, and your only response is "you didn't actually understand anything I said."

I'd ask you to clarify, but we both know I just wiped the floor with you and you don't have a leg to stand on. But hey, keep sending unrelated or vague statements my way to squirm around your stupidity. Be sure to throw in some personal attacks in an attempt to deflect from your failed points. They amuse me.

I believe it's because of King Barry's recent executive orders.

Just say "none of your business", and they have to accept that.

Also keep in mind that Obamacare is the foundation for complete control over our lives. These kind of privacy intrusions will only continue, until the public wakes up and rejects it.

Go figure. You actually did spin it. Not that I'm the least bit surprised....... :lmao:
Hack on baby! Hack on!!

I still don't think the question referred to in the OP is part of any government agenda. But it does highlight the political activism of many doctors, who seem willing to use their position as trusted professionals in one field (medicine) to address issues where their expertise is moot. It would be like car mechanics tracking accident data and then lobbying government for lower speed limits. Their opinions and recommendations on such issues are no less valid than anyone else's - but no more so either.

Just WHAT executive order are you talking about?

And, what part of ACA is the "foundation for complete control over our lives"??

FACT is that its the R that pushing to take control of our lives.

it was a simple question. good job avoiding it.

No, it was a moronic question exposing the fact you have an agenda or simply are too stupid to read. Barring either, you would not have asked it. :cuckoo:

I always find it amusing when people have difficulty answering questions they find stupid. Like 2+2=? doesn't require much intelligence, but I can't imagine someone taking multiple posts to avoid answering it.

This is hardly a political agenda. No one is making any claims on gun control. The question is quite simple: as hundreds of kids die each year because dumb hicks allow them to have access to guns, is it appropriate that they should have such access?

It's a simple question that has little to do with politics. Did any of you actually read the question asked in the OP? Here it is again: "If there is a gun in your home, is it out of children's reach and unloaded?" It doesn't suggest people should get guns out of the home, or mention anything about background checks. It simply asks if guns are inaccessible by children. The question remains simple: is it a good idea to allow children to have access to loaded firearms? Yes or no? I look forward to all of you avoiding the question again, and the dumb reasonings you give behind why you can't answer.

You gun fanatics are quite comical.

Maybe if you dropped the emotive argument and tried the reasoned and rational. For all intent and purposes it's none of their business. I've shown that there is a "political" element to it, possibly the driving force behind it that has everything to do with the keep your firearms locked up crowd and has nothing to do with any other part of the firearms debate.
As for, is it a good idea to allow children to have access to fire arms..... it looks like you managed to put it to me in a question form as opposed to an accusatory format.... good for you, you're learning.
What I think about the matter is none of you business, or anyone else's for that matter...... go ahead and assume the worst, you already have.........
You crusaders are quite comical.

You've shown an indirect connection to politics which has nothing to do with medicine. Politicians don't dictate that question. The question is not political. The question directly deals with health and how hundreds of children are killed each year. Do you not think that's a health issue? I can't tell if you're too dumb to answer any of these questions because you realize it would make you look ridiculous, or too dumb to actually answer the question.

Now if you think doctors caring for children have no business asking questions that affect the health of children, I can't help but wonder what you think the role of doctors is exactly.

But, but, but, it's the children!!!!! Yup, no emotive approach here..... move along, move along......... :lmao:

yes, pediatricians take care of children. this isn't emotive. this is fact. are you really that moronic?

I got a letter from my insurance company that said that obamacare required an in home interview to discuss my lifestyle and end of life decisions.

I don't think your insurer is lying to you, I think you're lying to us.

Oh heck yea, agreed, like that revenue neutral jazz....

Hey! It was supposed to Bend The Cost Curve Down - just like the Unemployment Rate was supposed to be below 6% by now due to the Stimulus.

lol, i love when I have a hick cornered, because they can't even put up an argument. they just use a vague attempt at insult and can't address the topic at hand. hahahaha

you think pediatricians and family doctors who take care of kids asking questions about child care is emotive. hahahahaha
