what community did he "organize"?
So he didn't organize a group of people, or help the poor or powerless?
but the message spread
This is even more applicable.
Take, for instance, the organizers of the first Tea Party events. They were a small group of people who were pissed off, and they organized a protest.
It turns out that a lot of people were pissed off, all around the country. So the Tea Parties spread like wildfire, into what they are now.
The first person to have the idea didn't personally influence that many people. But those people in turn influenced others, and so on and so on and now Dick Armey is involved.
