Media Matters targeting radio stations

Let's lay our cards on the table lefties. Almost nobody but the most ignorant liberal believes the attack on Limbaugh is part of an effort to cleanse the airwaves. It's part of the socialist fascist effort to silence opposition speech. The question is why is Media Matters tax exempt when it is clearly an arm of the socialist revolution.

No, it's an organization using their freedom of speech to attack Limbaugh. Why shouldn't they?

And, as I already posted, Media Matters is "tax exempt" because they're a registered 501c3 - simple as that.

I hope you guys all mailed checks to Air America. After all, there is a right to have your show sponsored.

Wait, something seems off about that...
Yes, people can voluntarily support whatever programming they choose, as long as it's allowable by law.

Not very many people chose to support Err America. Only so much irrational leftist bile and hatred folks can stomach in one sitting, I suppose.

Are not most PAC's and such also tax exempt?

On what basis is Media Matters tax exempt? How is it any different from the NY Times?

Media Matters is "tax exempt" because they're a registered 501(c)3, operating under the rules for that status.

Simple as that.
Not quite.

To be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, an organization must be organized and operated exclusively for exempt purposes set forth in section 501(c)(3), and none of its earnings may inure to any private shareholder or individual. In addition, it may not be an action organization, i.e., it may not attempt to influence legislation as a substantial part of its activities and it may not participate in any campaign activity for or against political candidates.

But no problem. This Administration's Justice Department, which is far less interested in justice than agenda, won't do anything about it.

I think people can support whatever programming they want, but you don't think that. When it comes to Limbaugh, you think he should be immune from supply and demand.

Rush LImbaugh is a political candidate?

Poor Davey, slow on the uptake.
The tax exempt Media Matters is now buying radio messages targeting individual radio stations by name that carry the Rush Limbaugh show. What's going on?
They hate freedom of speech.

What would be the justice in punishing an organization for breaking a law they didn't actually break. Limbaugh is not a piece of legislation and isn't a candidate for office.

Beyond that, that language has always been read very narrowly. A reading as broad as the one you suggests would shut down many conservative organizations (Cato and Heritage come to mind).

You'll have to remind me where I said that.

Don't bother looking. You won't find anything. Of course, you weren't going to look anyway.

If Rush's audience dries up, he goes off the air. Oh, well. I don't think he'll starve to death.

He'll be able to survive on fat deposits for a good while. And yes, when you're ranting about his free speech being violated because advertisers think it's bad for business to be on his show, than yeah, you're saying he should be immune from supply and demand.

Oh, that's right, I forgot -- the First Amendment grants the left the freedom from criticism.

It's funny how you idiots are pretending the only person MM ever talks about is Rush.

From your post which I was replying to.

"it may not participate in any campaign activity for or against political candidates."
