This is a media-power vignette inspired by Jerry Maguire and Switching Channels.

"American media-figures/celebrities Tom Cruise and Tom Hanks were thinking about why/how optimism towards consumers' use and celebration of media represented a new form of democracy --- one gauged by dialogue and traffic(!). An idealistic Asian-American Internet-blogger named Ajay Satan was equally passionate about the value of media in modern civilization. Cruise, Ajay, and Hanks formed sort of a 'culture-negotiation triumvirate' (in terms of Facebook, Hollywood, and CNN 'civics')."

"Hanks was a specialist in Americana psychology, having made multiple films that captured the charm and superstition of American society (e.g., Joe versus the Volcano, Philadelphia, The Ladykillers). Ajay was a specialist in pedestrian democracy and Internet free-speech, having blogged about capitalism-complications (e.g., Enron, Napster, Gulf War) and consumerism-vanities (e.g., media-scandals, cholesterol-culture, and democracy-aesthetics. Cruise was a specialist in general American idealism, having made multiple films that captured the consciousness and imagination of American dreams (e.g., Top Gun, The Color of Money, Minority Report). Hanks was therefore a 'diplomat' of American Fridays (since Friday was the end of the work-week and symbolized family-charms and the simple comforts of American homes). Ajay was therefore a 'diplomat' of American Saturdays (since Saturday represented pedestrian traffic, democratic revelry, and humanism aesthetics). Cruise was therefore a 'diplomat' of American Sundays (since Sunday was a Christian day of Mass and represented a day of contemplation and health)."

"American critics were concerned about one basic problem of modern civilization --- mishandled toxic-waste. Could the EPA manage all toxic-waste related problems? Would eco-pollution be the 'signature' of the human species? Incidentally/coincidentally, Cruise, Ajay, and Hanks were all fans of the toxic-waste paranoia film The Toxic Avenger, which ironically made them all 'diplomats' of American values. So where was the Christian danger in all of this networking-based sociocultural revelry?"

"Americans understood very well that the proverbial doors of perception led to revelations regarding access to information and ideas, management of intelligence, and the aesthetics of traffic in a commerce-based 'new world.' Americans made the best toys and American toy companies (Fisher-Price, Hasbro, Mattel) were totems of consumerism revelry. So how would Cruise, Ajay, and Hanks fit into this 'conscious collage' (spiritually)?"

"Americans also boasted the computer/software companies IBM, Apple, and Microsoft, more or less considered the 'triumvirate' of new age intellectual commerce-based aesthetics/gears. Would Cruise embrace IBM? Would Ajay embrace Apple? Would Hanks embrace Microsoft? For power-triumvirates to function in a high-speed new world, there would have to be a good deal of cultural objectivity. So get ready for the weekend, because Friday, Saturday, and Sunday were officially 'covered' by the media-diplomacy/aesthetics triumvirate'(!)."

GOD: I'm a Tom Cruise fan!
SATAN: I like Ajay Satan...
MICHAEL: I think Tom Hanks is very sharp.

GOD: Cruise is American imagination.
SATAN: Ajay represents the populace.
MICHAEL: Hanks is an American 'bishop.'

GOD: Cruise represents mass IQ.
SATAN: Ajay represents free-speech.
MICHAEL: Hanks represents social intelligence.

GOD: I'm wary of 'power triumvirates.'
SATAN: Why? There's nothing dangerous about IBM, Apple, and Microsoft.
MICHAEL: Media-culture requires much diplomacy...

GOD: Are Cruise, Ajay, and Hanks worthy 'priests' (of America)?
SATAN: Americans appreciate role models and participant-politics.
MICHAEL: I wonder if Ajay is a 'celebrity diplomat.'

GOD: I think Ajay understands the value of consumerism and toys.
SATAN: I think Ajay knows about the importance of self-representation.
MICHAEL: I think Ajay appreciates the symbolism of 'magazine-culture.'

GOD: Let's call this Cruise-Ajay-Hanks triumvirate 'The Yale Quotient.'
SATAN: Why the 'Yale quotient' (references)?
MICHAEL: I know Yale is an educational symbol of American excellence...

GOD: Yale represents American 'perfume' (just like Cruise-Ajay-Hanks).
SATAN: Well, I can't think of a more 'democratic' triumvirate then.
MICHAEL: Hail to Ghost in the Machine (a film about modern 'traffic')!
