For some time I've been watching different TV ads saying "more of xxx model cars from xxxx years are still on the road". Does anyone know where these statistics come from?

I find the Consumer Reports method of asking folks how reliable their car is to be somewhat flawed to personal perception so I don't use it.

Does anyone else have a link to the information I requested? Google skills elude me.

Google skills? Man, if you can type you're pretty much there.
