No, they aren't, not based on that. McCain has earned the Senate seat, elected by the people to represent their interests. So has Obama. However, McCAin does not believe that HIS OWN PERSONAL BELIEFS trump the beliefs of the majority of Americans. He does not view Americans as idiots clinging to their guns and their religion, he doesn't dismiss them as ignorant and uneducated, he appears to trust their judgment. He may think he knows better, but he does not believe he has the authority or the right to act FOR them IN SPITE of what they believe and want.

Hence he is not an elitist. He is a member of the elite....BUT THAT IS NOT THE SAME THING AS AN ELITIST.

I swear, 75 percent of what is wrong with America is that Americans have apparently lost their ability to understand the English language.
