Republican John McCain on Wednesday credited the recent $10-a-barrel drop in the price of oil to President Bush's lifting of a presidential ban on offshore drilling, an action he has been advocating in his presidential campaign.

The cost of oil and gasoline is "on everybody's mind in this room," McCain told a town-hall meeting.

He criticized Democratic rival Barack Obama for opposing drilling on the Outer Continental Shelf.

He is at least partially right of course, after all it a speculative market. Not that I expect any of the Drilling wont help crowd to believe me, No I am sure they will just call me names.

I said a couple of weeks ago that just by simply announcing we were going to Drill we could lower prices some, and people called me a fool. Then Bush announces the end of the executive ban, a clear step toward drilling, and the price drops 10 bucks in 2 days, and I bet people will still call me a fool.
