He knows that the community in question is publicly very anti-gay. (Although in reality, that kind of love -- referred to as "on the downlow" -- is more common in that community than anyone wants to admit).

His begging that community for its support is pitiful.

We can be expecting any day his decision to "suspend" his campaign.
