May Day has long been a focal point for demonstrations by various socialist, communist and anarchist groups. In some circles, bonfires are lit in commemoration of the Haymarket martyrs, usually at dawn.[9] May Day has been an important official holiday in countries such as the People's Republic of China, North Korea, Cuba and the former Soviet Union. May Day celebrations typically feature elaborate popular and military parades in these countries.

So is Obama's NEW, Improved...slogan...FOWARD...

Used by Tyrants the world over...

Obama campaign video teases new slogan: 'Forward'

Obama’s propagandists are good at spinning their version of history, but perhaps they should have delved further into the history books before coming up with their 2012 election slogan: Forward.

But later in the day people began to realize that this “Forward” slogan seemed familiar. Then it hit .. ah ha! .. I know where this is from. Brutal Chinese murderer Mao Zedong once engaged in his Great Leap Forward. It is described as a period of “forced collectivization and industrialization,” which happened to result in the death of 45 million people. Also, Spring Forward was apparently a slogan used by Communist dictator Vladimir Lenin.
Way to go Team Obama! But then again, maybe the Mao reference doesn’t faze them. After all, Obama’s former chief communications director Anita Dunn once proclaimed that Mao was one of her “favorite philosophers.”
Also, take a look at the importance the word “forward” carries for socialists, as well as left-wing newspapers.

BOORTZ...

it does bring a tear to these comrade's eyes

But we need something more fast and upbeat to get the youth vote
more involved - Poor public education is just not enough

This one would be good for the OWS crowd

December 25th was a big pagan holiday. Using your logic.....:eusa_whistle:
Are you really all that certain that Pagans used the Christian Calendar, Dutch? :eusa_eh:

"The eventual choice of December 25, made perhaps as early as 273, reflects a convergence of Origen's concern about pagan gods and the church's identification of God's son with the celestial sun. December 25 already hosted two other related festivals: natalis solis invicti (the Roman "birth of the unconquered sun"), and the birthday of Mithras, the Iranian "Sun of Righteousness" whose worship was popular with Roman soldiers. The winter solstice, another celebration of the sun, fell just a few days earlier. Seeing that pagans were already exalting deities with some parallels to the true deity, church leaders decided to commandeer the date and introduce a new festival."

Let me add some more that these buffoons support without realizing it....

"The Red Banner Youth Brigade

The Kwan family met the Youth Brigade in their living room, which had shrunk to the size of a prison cell due to the number of shouting youth surrounding the family. They gazed at the youth in bewilderment unable to understand the evil that they had done.

“Do you repent? Do you confess to clinging to the old values?”
“Confess and seek reeducation and we will spare you!”
“You are guilty of old thought, old culture, old values…”
“You have built a lackey’s empire on the backs of the people!”

Kwan and his wife, along with their twelve-year-old son were bound and defenseless.
“You are part of the old…”
The tall leader of the cadre engages in a furious dialectic, spittle flying from his mouth.
“You are part of the old! Do you repent?”
With every line he spoke, he swung the black baton, heavy as a cricket bat.
“You will reform your decadent ways!”
“The old ways are a threat to the collective good of the people!”
“You will die if you retain your old beliefs!”

“Repent! Reject the old! Admit you have been seduced by unbeneficial and decadent thought!”

It continued for endless minutes- until the blows the student rained down stole the life from the family.

The iron-tipped baton left bloody forms at his feet as he recited the catechism the students thirstily sought to hear."

From the novel “The Stone Monkey,” by Jeffery Deaver

Just a recap: there was more activity on this thread then there was at the May Day protests.

I can't wait to hear the excuses!
