This is very real folks and VERY FRIGHTENING! 66% of the Construction Workers from three years ago do not have jobs in that industry now. If they are working, they are working part time jobs usually totally different from the work they used to do to put food on the table for their families.

NEW HOUSING STARTS (USED TO BE TWO MILLION A MONTH)

Expect foreclosuregate to make all of this much worse.

Why haven't they arrested Barney Frank yet? He is the one most responsible for this terrible mess. His statement that "Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are fundamentally sound and the critics are exaggerating the problems." should be enough to slap the cuffs on this jerk and get him his orange jumpsuit. What a sad disaster.

Over the past two weeks mortgage applications have plunged and plunged with an average of 10.8 percent a week. Just now, in the Month of October, we are seeing a death plunge in the home buying arena. Falls like that are not minor. It is a catastrophe! Yet, most Americans are too stupid to know what that collapse means.
