During my long career in law enforcement I had training in and real world experience with some seriously mentally ill subjects. Next time you have a moment of lucidity confide in someone before you become a danger to others or yourself.

I spent 32 + years with two agencies as a deputy, supervisor and manager. As a manager I ran IA for two years. I investigated officers whose behavior brought discredit to the agency and recommended to the hiring authority they be fired - some we investigated held extreme political views which leaked into their duties. When their views lead to behaviors which violated our policies it was clear such officers needed a career change.

This seems to be consistent with many on the right, and will only grow worse as the election draws near.

In normal circumstances, we could count on the Department of Justice to investigate and uphold the rule of law.

Not during the Bush years.
