I went to Ireland to draw and photograph a new golf course at County Claire. I flew to Newark and changed planes to a 767 to fly to Shannon, Ireland. I was on the right side of the aircraft up in first class, no wing to get in the way of taking photographs. We got stuck waiting to take off so shooting Manhattan was going to be tough but I shot it anyway. It was September 7th, 2001. I had what was a pretty strong digital camera at the time, a 4 megapixel Olympus DSLR hybrid.....the zoom lens wasn't removable. This is one of the shots I took, this is very close to the correct light at the time. That is a Southwest 737 coming up the Hudson but because of our location and height, it looks like he is on a direct path for the buildings.
