Mandalay Bay owners sue VICTIMS of Las Vegas mass shooting

Naw, man, I just think it's odd that ANYONE would still be voting for the GOP after 2008, when they showed that if you work for a living, a working man voting Republican makes as much sense as a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders.
Wow, Really Joe B. You bring racism into every argument on every thread you are found mumbling incoherent nonsense on. FYI- Many people will find it hard to vote Democrat after that party was exposed for being a bunch of lying, scheming elitist hucksters. Racism? Huh JoeB. This was about as "white on white crime" as you can find in this country. Shut up with your "isms" Joe Blow!

I just got back from there. So are they supposed to have "metal detectors" on The Shoppes at Mandalay Bay too? It's basically a huge shopping mall, attached to the casino and hotel. They also have a shark reef and "arctic experience" kind of park in there. We went for dinner at a place in The Shoppes, then came back the next day to hit the shopping mall. Does Disney Land need to do bag scans before you can enter too?

I gotta think that anyone thinking the hotel is liable here has never been to The Strip in Vegas, like seriously, you are encouraged to walk into any/every hotel and gamble - most of them have the malls inside them/attached to them, they have massive show venues everywhere, they're open to the public - its more like a park than individual "hotels" or whatever. You walk down the street and go in all the buildings (hotels, resorts, malls, etc.) more than once we came back out onto the street and realized that we'd come out a different hotel then we'd gone in lol

I mean, come off it, how many TSA like security check points do you folks want to put up with in order to protect against this rarety? "Take off your shoes and put your shopping bags through the scanner" - "I just need some fucking milk!!!" "NO exceptions!"

Shit we can't even agree as a nation to secure our actual borders, yet here we are discussing this with expectations that the Mandalay Bay is somehow more liable for this attack than a 7-11 would be. I don't think so.

Where did I mention racism in the passage of mine you just quoted.

Obviously, race is a factor. The GOP uses race to get working class whites to vote against their own economic interests, along with sexual fear and religion, of course.

I mean, it would be nice if they ran on, "We want you to work harder for less money so guys like Trump and Romney can buy more Dressage Horses and mansions and car elevators".

Some of you might even get it then... maybe.

^^ Unlikely... It's a heavy vacation spot, they have a fucking shark tank and are one of the top tourist destinations in Vegas. I doubt most folks visiting would see this side story, and the ones who are regulars (aka the fat cat gamblers who pay the majority of their bills) are more than likely going to come down against any implication that the hotel should doing security checks at the doors heh

Why should they be responsible?

why shouldn't they?

Did they take steps to allow this to happen? No.

Were they negligent in providing adequate security? No.

Therefore, there is no liability of their part.

Did they take steps to prevent it from happening? Have they, since?

How do you prevent something from happening that never happened before?

Also, what would you suggest that would prevent it from happening again?

You can't sue someone for something they have not done unless those actions were required by law.

Rule of law is that we let juries decide these issues.... The Hotel was negligent... they need to pay out a shitload of money.
How was the hotel negligent when in fact they hired a security company that was certified by the Department of Homeland Security for the event? When a person criminally misuses a company's product attempting to make them liable is bad precedence in my opinion. We don't hold the auto manufacturers liable when people get drunk and either intentionally or inadvertently use their products to kill others. Nor aircraft manufacturers so why should the gun industry be the exception?

I just found out that in my jurisdiction a juvenile who commits weapons offenses gets to rack up 4 offenses before they see any jail time. Maybe if our laws dealt with aggression, particularly male aggression early on and in a more appropriate manner some headway could be made but this is also one of those forboden topics.

Mandalay Bay owners sue victims of Las Vegas mass shooting

"The corporate owners of the Mandalay Bay casino filed suit against the victims of last year’s Las Vegas concert mass shooting, claiming it has no liability for the massacre"

Evidently Mandalay Bay believes it had / has no responsibility to prevent terrorists from checking into their hotel with semi-automatic rifles and thousands of rounds of ammo and using their room as a sniper roost from which to gun down anything moving below.

Yeah, suing the victims is really going to help their Reputation and bring in the business....

The merits, or lack of merits of the law suit not withstanding, what makes you call the killer a terrorist?

Because the Auto Industry doesn't sell a product designed to kill a lot of people, quickly. The gun industry sold a crazy person a semi-automatic gun with a bump stock. And the hotel industry should have known this is the kind of world we live in and taken appropriate action. But they didn't want to bother the shooter because, hey, he usually spends a lot of money when he's here.

Again, we lock up 2 million people, we have another 7 million on parole or probation. If locking people up was the answer, we'd be there already.

It's sad you see the world through a single miserable lens. People can't want something because they are different than you and think different than you, there has to be some nefarious evil reason. It's the basis of your worldview, and it's has to be a miserable way to go through life.

Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result..

You vote in REpublicans because the promise you they are going to ban abortion and get the queers. They tank the economy. A democrat gets in, fixes things, and then you guys vote in Republicans again and they do it again and again... and abortion never gets banned...

That's just fucking crazy.

Juries base their decisions on law, not emotion. So you are a fan of jury nullification as well?

All for it, if it creates a greater good. Frankly, most of us are getting tired of living in fear of madmen because you guys have a fetish. But the only way this changes is if it becomes too expensive for the big corporations to keep allowing it. So a big old jury award to the families, watch how fast other big corporations who are already bearing the brunt of the $270BB gun violence price tag get on the bandwagon.

I vote Republican usually because even if they aren't really for small government they grow it slower then democrats do.

You are an anarchist twat.

The NBA announced that MGM Resorts International will be the league’s official gaming partner, the first partnership of its kind with a major sports league in the U.S.

Wow, Really Joe B. You bring racism into every argument on every thread you are found mumbling incoherent nonsense on.
So JoeB it is a fact that in every argument you make throughout a thread you bring "racism' into it. Now maybe you can be happy because the stupid NBA has teamed up with the degenerate MGM Resorts International. Did you notice I agree that MGM resorts are being the bad guys here? Amazing that we agree on something. The original topic has nothing to do with racism however.

Wow, guy.... I bring race when it's appropriate. When you have one party that has a whole business model based on getting stupid white people to vote against their own economic interests, based on race, you really can't avoid it.

The thing is, while I think MGM is awful, they aren't nearly as awful as the true sponsors of this tragedy, the NRA and the gun industry.
