It's not about tourists getting the shits, it's about the younger brother of King Atahualpa nearly running the Spaniards out of South America following Pizarro's murderous treachery.

Just a (most likely terrified) teenager when his older brother the king was ransomed then strangled by Pizarro's men, Manco was installed to be a puppet ruler on behalf of the Spanish. Eventually having had enough abuse and humiliation, Manco escaped the city of Cuzco (after having escaped and been recaptured once before), where he was held a virtual prisoner of the Spanish.

Manco vanished into the jungle, only to reemerge leading every remaining Inca faction and many former enemies of the empire. In a series of raids and some massive direct confrontations, Manco came within a hair of driving the Spanish out. The Europeans rallied at the last minute and turned the tables, but Manco was never captured. He and his sons survived in the jungle for many more years, striking at the Spanish from time to time.
