Man says God ordered him to ram vehicle at 100 mph

What? You've gotta be kidding........

So, in your fucked opinion, you're going to say that Moshe (Moses), Elija, Yeshua (Jesus), as well as all the other great prophets (beginning with Abraham), were ALSO psychotic?

Apparently you don't believe in God. And.....to put another point out there, do you have a conscience that tells you when something is a bad idea? That small, still voice ISN'T just you talking to yourself.......that may be God talking to you.

And.......for the record......since everyone has their own understanding of what they do and do not believe, who the hell are you to tell others that God doesn't talk to anyone?

Have you ever tried?

As a matter of fact I think that there are two types of people who say God is talking to them

1. Psychotics
2. Con artists

I will remove Yeshua from 1. and 2. The reason is that since Yeshua said He was the Son of God then he was actually talking to himself. Nothing wrong with that, I do it all the time. As far as Moshe, Elija and the rest are concerned, see 1. and 2. for available choices.

Conscience. Learned behaviour as a result of a positive socialisation experience as a child. I'm not a sociopath nor do I have anti-social behaviour tendencies, so being a reasonably well-adjusted adult I understand the social mores of my culture and I observe them.

What if your learned social behaviors tells you it's a-ok to eat human flesh?

Conscience is that little bit of God in you telling you right from wrong. Listen and attribute it to God. Give up the arrogant fallacy that leads you to think it's all about you.

Good thing I left you off the UKIAP. Maybe God was telling me it was not all about you.

as anyone but me can plainly see, i'm a blind ostrich, not a freaking emu.
emu, jeez, you really know how to hurt an avian.

Not to egg you on, but being an ostrich is nothing to crow about.

If you're talking to God, that's prayer.

If God is talking back, that's psychosis......

What a crock of crap.

I say this simply for the reasons that I'm about to lay down on y'all.....If we're supposed to have a "close personal relationship" WITH God, then you have to understand something. If you're looking for a close personal relationship with another human, then you not only TALK, but you LISTEN. If you listen only, without talking, you find out everything about them, but they find out nothing about you. If you talk only, they find out everything about you, but you find out nothing about them.

Okay? You've got the basic gist. Oh yeah.....by the way, the 11th step of AA, states that "Sought through Prayer and Meditation to improve our conscience contact with God, AS WE UNDERSTOOD HIM", which means that it's gotta be a 2 way street.

How do you listen to God? Simple......the Buddhist and Shaolin Monks, as well as almost all martial artists practice meditation, which is simply listening to God.

If you've got any questions about that, look at my thread in Religion about telepathy. You may find out something.
Thank you very much!!!!:iagree::iagree:

It appears from the article that the title of the article is very misleading. God telling someone that, "she wasn't driving right, and she needed to be taken off the road". Does not equate to ram into to her and get her off of the road. What the article does relate the man heard the voice of God speaking to him and took it upon himself to take her off of the road with his own vehicle.

What a strange story. I'm glad both of them are ok. I can't imagine why God would want someone to do that, but I think that if you hear God telling you to do something you should listen. I know that's going to get me beat up here because someone will say what if he told you to kill or something outrageous but if you really think God is talking to you, I mean really, really talking to you... I think you have to listen.
God is capable of taking a vehicle off the road without another person ramming that person with their own car. Although I do agree with you if God tells you to do something you should get right on it. I would not deny that God told the man the woman needed to be taken off the road. Then again if the guy was thinking clearly he would have realized that God would not have a person do something unlawful that could hurt that woman or himself. The man appointed himself to that task when he ran the woman off the road.

Interestingly enough, the SaTan did the same thing when he started to sin. You may even say that he'd sort of created it. Sin can be defined best (IMHO) as going past the example set.

This dude went beyond the example set, as well as went way beyond where God may have told him, because he wanted the easy way out.

Nope......

In an environment which is low on animal and vegetable protein it make sense to eat human flesh.

Conscience is what you develop if you're properly socialised.

Give up your supersitition.
