Sen. Boxer warns of 'droughts, floods, fires, loss of species' -- if Senate fails to pass bill... :cuckoo:

Are you going to sit there and really tell me that pollution has NO effect whatsoever on the planet? :cuckoo:

NO one claimed that pollution has no effect in this thread. Where did you get that from are you :cuckoo:?

The people in this thread seem to be making fun of the hype around the situation.

I think the people posting before you are claiming that global warming is not all it had been hyped up to be for the last 30 years since we got out of the "global ice age is coming" scare in the 70's.

With temp data over the last decade showing no real temperature increase while the CO2 levels are still rising it makes people skeptical of the global warming crowd. What makes people even more skeptical is now that same crowd calls it climate change instead since they realize there hasn't been much warming in recent years.

Whoops, rant off now :D.

All I'm saying is NO ONE in this thread said that pollution has no effect, that was 100% a figment of your imagination.

Gore's call for “global governance” echoes former French President Jacques Chirac's call in 2000.

:cuckoo:

Barry is every bit as much involved with this global warming scam as bore is. GE money got obama elected, and GE stands to make an obscene amount of money off Cap and Trade. It's pay back time for obama.

With a summer like this, you can`t tell my Dad there`s global warming.:cuckoo:

On The Farm: Nick`s Wheat on KFYR-TV North Dakota's NBC News Leader

Only idiots think Global Warming means warming in every situation. There might be warming in the arctic and that causes a chain reaction that causes a draught in another part of the world and so on and so on.

Fact is, only a very small percentage of the scientists agree with GW deniers. This is another argument that makes the right seem stupid.

Do you want to wait until you get cancer before you start demanding that corporations start acting right? Start thinking long term and not just short term. That's the GOP's problem in a nutshell. Even CEO's. They used to worry about the long term success of their companies and now they only care about cashing in their stocks.

These guys and gals? And thousands of others you never hear about?

“I am a skeptic…Global warming has become a new religion.” - Nobel Prize Winner for Physics, Ivar Giaever.

“Since I am no longer affiliated with any organization nor receiving any funding, I can speak quite frankly….As a scientist I remain skeptical.” - Atmospheric Scientist Dr. Joanne Simpson, the first woman in the world to receive a PhD in meteorology and formerly of NASA who has authored more than 190 studies and has been called “among the most preeminent scientists of the last 100 years.”

"Warming fears are the worst scientific scandal in history…When people come to know what the truth is, they will feel deceived by science and scientists.” - UN IPCC Japanese Scientist Dr. Kiminori Itoh, an award-winning PhD environmental physical chemist.

“The IPCC has actually become a closed circuit; it doesn’t listen to others. It doesn’t have open minds… I am really amazed that the Nobel Peace Prize has been given on scientifically incorrect conclusions by people who are not geologists,” - Indian geologist Dr. Arun D. Ahluwalia at Punjab University and a board member of the UN-supported International Year of the Planet.

“The models and forecasts of the UN IPCC are incorrect because they only are based on mathematical models and presented results at scenarios that do not include, for example, solar activity.” - Victor Manuel Velasco Herrera, a researcher at the Institute of Geophysics of the National Autonomous University of Mexico

“It is a blatant lie put forth in the media that makes it seem there is only a fringe of scientists who don’t buy into anthropogenic global warming.” - U.S Government Atmospheric Scientist Stanley B. Goldenberg of the Hurricane Research Division of NOAA.

“Even doubling or tripling the amount of carbon dioxide will virtually have little impact, as water vapour and water condensed on particles as clouds dominate the worldwide scene and always will.” – . Geoffrey G. Duffy, a professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering of the University of Auckland, NZ.

“After reading [UN IPCC chairman] Pachauri's asinine comment comparing skeptics to Flat Earthers, it's hard to remain quiet.” - Climate statistician Dr. William M. For how many years must cooling go on?" - Geologist Dr. David Gee the chairman of the science committee of the 2008 International Geological Congress who has authored 130 plus peer reviewed papers, and is currently at Uppsala University in Sweden.

“Gore prompted me to start delving into the science again and I quickly found myself solidly in the skeptic camp…Climate models can at best be useful for explaining climate changes after the fact.” - Meteorologist Hajo Smit of Holland, who reversed his belief in man-made warming to become a skeptic, is a former member of the Dutch UN IPCC committee.

“Many [scientists] are now searching for a way to back out quietly (from promoting warming fears), without having their professional careers ruined.” - Atmospheric physicist James A. Peden, formerly of the Space Research and Coordination Center in Pittsburgh.

“Creating an ideology pegged to carbon dioxide is a dangerous nonsense…The present alarm on climate change is an instrument of social control, a pretext for major businesses and political battle. It became an ideology, which is concerning.” - Environmental Scientist Professor Delgado Domingos of Portugal, the founder of the Numerical Weather Forecast group, has more than 150 published articles.

“CO2 emissions make absolutely no difference one way or another….Every scientist knows this, but it doesn’t pay to say so…Global warming, as a political vehicle, keeps Europeans in the driver’s seat and developing nations walking barefoot.” - Dr. Takeda Kunihiko, vice-chancellor of the Institute of Science and Technology Research at Chubu University in Japan.

What....Did Christine hijack your account??

Just because pollution has an effect doesn't automatically mean that said effect is that which the scaremongers claim it is.

Conspiracy theorist. Look into most if not all of these guys backgrounds and see who they donate their money to. See how much money they make. See where their investments are.

Small percentage. You can't threaten the entire scientific community, although Cheney tried.

Argumentum ad hominem (argument directed at the person). This is the error of attacking the character or motives of a person who has stated an idea, rather than the idea itself. The most obvious example of this fallacy is when one debater maligns the character of another debater (e.g, "The members of the opposition are a couple of fascists!"), but this is actually not that common. A more typical manifestation of argumentum ad hominem is attacking a source of information -- for example, responding to a quotation from Richard Nixon on the subject of free trade with China by saying, "We all know Nixon was a liar and a cheat, so why should we believe anything he says?" Argumentum ad hominem also occurs when someone's arguments are discounted merely because they stand to benefit from the policy they advocate -- such as Bill Gates arguing against antitrust, rich people arguing for lower taxes, white people arguing against affirmative action, minorities arguing for affirmative action, etc. In all of these cases, the relevant question is not who makes the argument, but whether the argument is valid.

YOU look into it. Nice to see by the speed of your reply you didn't even bother to read any of the quotes. I have many dozens more. I like this one alot:

Did you happen to see that several of these scientists are WITH the IPCC, and one is from NOAA? You are a lazy, sloppy oaf who really doesn't care about the truth, only your blind ideology and partisan hate.
