man made earthquakes in the Central US

So how is fracking caused earthquakes related to climate change again? The op jumped to that connection, but did it so fast I missed the connection...........

:eusa_eh:

Yeah...went past me too.

I Suppose you need a degree in Sociology from Liberal State University to make the connection.

Arkansas Increases Monitors For Quake Swarm...

State to monitor earthquake swarm near Greers Ferry
5 Mar.`13 - State earthquake experts will place more monitors around Greers Ferry Lake after a recent jump in the number of temblors.
While many of the 60 quakes in the past year were too light to be felt by people, the Arkansas Geological Survey hopes to pinpoint a cause.

Geologist Scott Ausbrooks says a closer look is warranted. He told Little Rock television station KATV that more monitors will be placed in an area from Clinton to Heber Springs.

Ausbrooks said the quakes could just be a natural occurrence, perhaps tied to recent water level changes at the lake. The region also has a pair of injection wells serving the natural gas industry. Ausbrooks said it is too early to say whether those are contributing to the uptick.

You righties made a loud clamor against any suggestion that climate change was due to any human activity. Now, in the growing suspicion that “fracking” is causing earthquakes, you guys must clamor too now about something else.

A USGS report says this about a recent upsurge in earthquakes in the Central US.

While the seismicity rate changes described here are almost certainly manmade, it remains to be determined how they are related to either changes in extraction methodologies or the rate of oil and gas production.

SSA 2012 Abstract # 12-137

This is a big deal.

It's happening all over the heartland.

Indeed..........even causing sinkholes all the way down in Florida. Almost a mile wide too!!! Id say its a big deal when even golfers in the midwest are concerned about dropping their golf balls from higher than 4 feet due to fears of setting off a seismic event.

For those of you that havent figured it out yet, there are some people in this world who are not content in life unless it is surrounded with a certain level of angst......a common symptom of obsessive-compulsive disorders. We see it in people with serious conspiracy theory hangups. OCD presents in many different forms.

Threads like this can come out of simple curiosity, however, there are some on this thread that are compelled to ramp up the otherwise mundane.

Ive spent the last 28 years being around it every day at work......sticks out like a sore thumb.
