    That sounds fabulous!

I do a similar dish with mushrooms instead of bell peppers and white wine in the gravy - and agreed, much better with mashed taters.

yea I only thought of rice b/c a number of commenters on the recipe they served it with the gravy on top of rice. mashed potatoes might be an idea though, would have to go to the store again to get potatoes though

o use rice then or pasta...long noodled pasta would go with it and the gravy

HB is right here: with porkchops....

    Sweet Potato>Potato>Egg Noodle>Rice

I wonder what got into Paula Dean to suggest rice.:doubt:

I guess that's the "low country" part of the dish.

Also, I'd pay close attention to the recipe where it says

This is some pretty $$$ cut pork chop: Don't downsize or go cheap on the GF

a bit sloppy. we had to a quite a bit more flour mixed in with the broth at the end to make it real gravy instead of just soupy, but besides that followed the recipe exactly. was pretty damn good.

yes I got that good kind and it was well worth it. 4 of them was like $18. I don't buy pork that often though (gf usually does the shopping) so I have no idea if that is high or not.
