Why spend so much money on a surge, if your going to say "fuck it lets pull em out" 6 months later?

If its because of the horrible iraqi benchmark report card that just came in, then fucking say it.

Thats why I hate this guy, not because he is stupid....no not at all, there have been dumber presidents. I hate him because he makes a big decision, or backs a big policy, then sidesteps it and manipulates every situation to dodge responibility.

Why not just say you fucked up, or at least give it to us straight up. Instead of saying that the surge worked so well, we might be able to pull troops out. Thats such bullshit.

If the surge was working, 11 out of 18 benchmarks would be a nightmare, not a reality. Look over the 11 that are satisfactory, which ones were a direct result of the surge? Then get back to me.

I was under the impression that the PURPOSE of the surge was to give the Iraqi political process a chance to move forward by reducing the carnage in Baghdad. The carnage has indeed been reduced - that was almost a foregone conclusion. If you put 20 THOUSAND more cops on the beat in East LA, gang violence THERE would obviously go down. What seems to have happened with this surge is that the carnage has merely moved out of Baghdad proper and is not scattered about the rest of the country.

and more importantly, the surge has not come close to serving its intended PURPOSE. The Iraqi political process has made little to no forward motion.

Curbing carnage in Baghdad was not the purpose of the surge. Claiming that, because we have curbed carnage in Baghdad that, the surge is a success is dizzying and desperate political spin.

As for you, I cant even understand half your analogy's. Speak formal english, not southern rhetoric. Your posts do indeed speak for themselves, which is why I questioned your understanding of foreign policy. This isnt the 90's, cussing every other word does not get people to understand you better. It just makes you look less composed. I am not claiming to know anything about running a country, but I know how NOT to run a country....Just ask Bush, he will tell you "basically, do things on your gut feeling rather than intelligence, and if they go bad.....blame it on someone else, or just ignore it".
