So we are supposed to be impressed that someone no one knows endorsed Ron Paul? i wouldnt be impressed if George Washington endorsed Ron Paul. Why on earth would someone i know nothing about pull more sway than a man I respected? (This is a hypothetical, yes I know he's dead).

i can't imagine Paul winning SC. i've lived there before and i just don't think it's the kind of place that worries about our federal finances enough to give him the nod.

They won't blindly support them, but if you support and individual who supports a specific candidate. It is not a stretch to imagine that they would be now willing to take a second look at RP or first look. His endorsement was very mainstream GOP in saying that he will support the nominee if it is Romney, he likes Romney, but he feels that Paul is the best choice.

He has some popularity among military church-goers in the south. I know this for a fact, yes his opinion (to some) might have an effect on voters in South Carolina which is a HUGE military state and a HUGE bible belt state, and Ron Paul already gets significant amounts of support from the military. Virginia might also be a state where Ron Paul's military support might have an effect on the race and there are a few others.

But don't knock it. It was Bush's courtship of the religious right that won him that state over McCain.
