Maine's U.S. representatives, Mike Michaud and Chellie Pingree, are calling on the Federal Emergency Management Agency to restore funding for soup kitchens, food pantries and homeless shelters in Maine.

Maine lost nearly 60 percent of its FEMA funding, or nearly $500,000, because of a new allocation formula that penalizes Maine as a rural state. Four counties – Cumberland, York, Waldo and Sagadahoc – have lost all of their funding, according to a joint new release sent by Michaud and Pingree.

"Shelters and food pantries are struggling right now, just as many families in Maine are," Pingree said in the release. "This is not the time to pull the rug out from under them.”

The good news is that the Feds are still giving the big oil companies over 8 billion in taxpayer funded subsidies.

Remember boys and girls; it is more important to make sure the oil executives maintain their multi million dollar bonus status.

You're expecting compassion from people who bow to kiss the slick asses of people who say "if you feed them, they will just breed"? They WANT this to become a third world shit hole controlled by faceless corporations.
