Monopoly, you belong in an insane assylum with a straight jacket on.
10) Mental hospitals and insane assylum in the world shutting down because they survive on donations and grants and they earn money from sufferings of weak people. Thousands of people die from mental drugs given by mental doctors.

11) 35% of world police will be fired from their jobs because they are involved in criminal activities and harrassment of innocent people.

12) 75% of world movies will shut down because they show nudity and sex and people will not have money to watch movies due to further financial crisis.

13) Less sports audience and viewers.

14) 50% less TV advertisements due to financial crisis.

15) Boycott of newspapers because paper has a life of 5 recycles only. After 5 recycles paper cannot be used again.

Since no one can control earthquakes I suggest everyone visit Yellowstone before the big one hits. It might be tomorrow or a thousand years in the future.

We visited Yellowstone at the end of August this year; I lack the words to describe its beauty and uniqueness.

Has anyone visited the Craters of the Moon national monument? I wonder if the weakness in the earths crust on that spot is a 'release valve' which will reduce the pressure and prevent a violent eruption.

One final comment. We got caught in a traffic jam while driving the lower loop in the park. People and vehicles are required to remain at least 50 yards from all wildlife (100 yards from the predators, bear, wolves, lion and coyote). It seems one very large and slow moving Bison chose to walk along the highway one afternoon. Behind him were 50 (?) cars. I recommend leaving your car in West Yellowstone and taking one of the tour buses. Great commentary and able to spot wildlife one would surely miss if driving.

So from the responses I guess this guy is pretty religious, I am a lil myself

If this were to happen tomorrow wouldn't you think its the way God intended it, if we get the technology to prevent, predict, or rebuild then He must want us to continue... I'm not sure, I let Him take care of the things out of my control. I suggest you go to school for this and make yourself useful rather than relying on more intelligent and rich people to bail you out, it won't happen and honestly it's pretty pathetic.

Or you could thank the people that made the technology that saved your sorry ass.

Not to mention it's projected to take several hundred thousand years more to build of the pressure necessary to have it blow.

Which is my point, I'm understanding why that's so offensive to you if I'm trying to understand someone who people are saying is religious. It just defeats what it does for me. I can't really remember what it was (and I don't really care to because again its out my control and not imminent), but it could be yellow stone which we are in the zone for something to happen but I believe the time frame is like 80,000 yrs and built off of only 3 repetitions in 240,000 years which in my opinion, the range and lack of repetition doesn't make it reliable. I don't think it's going to happen, I feel like you took what I said as some kind belief in it? That's why I'm saying why worry about something you can't control, if it happens it happens, and as someone who believe in God I'd like to comfort myself that it happened for a reason. I don't like to get in to religion because if you don't like that or need that fine, but what does it matter to you if I like or need that.

I wasn't neglecting the people who made or will make it, but if you look at me and get mad for saying thank god for when you were born basically, ok, it doesn't really matter to me. However, I think you probably have some other much deeper issues as to why you don't believe in God rather than logic, for the simple way you come off so angry. If anything I'm just grateful to be born now, perhaps that is just a mortal feeling I don't know, but I'm just happy to be around now and that upsets you?

I think it's incredibly disrespectful to the scientists and engineers who spend their life fixing peoples problems only to have the credit going to someone else.

They deserve ALL the credit. They worked their ASS off.

It's like a man who made a split decision to save you from being hit by a car and thank the car driver instead for not hitting you.

An Eruption of the Yellowstone Caldera could been an extinction level event for the world, and would most certainly mean the end of the USA.

It's been some time, But I read once that the last Eruption at Yellow stone was so large the force actually changed the length of a day by slowing our spin, moved us slightly in space, and changed out Angle on our Axis. The Ash and rock it spewed into the Stratosphere sparked one of the deepest Ice Ages in Earth History.

Wherever you're getting your information from, I would stop if I were you. Volcanic activity from the Yellowstone hotspot continues to this very day, and is seen in the form of geysers and ground swelling. Aside from the handful of super-eruptions the field has also exhibited non explosive lava flows. The last super-eruption out of the Yellowstone hotspot spewed about 1,000 km/sq of ejecta, which is the bottom qualification of a "super-eruption." Most explosive eruptions produce more.

I think that whatever you were watching you are confusing Yellowstone with the Toba Caldera. The last super-eruption there was one of the most massive ever in history. The catastrophe theory behind it attributes the eruption to accelerating the onset of the last ice age, though not causing it by itself. I've never heard of a theory that it caused a change in the earth's orbit or rotation, though I suppose it's possible considering the multiplicity of factors that are involved in the position of the earth's axis (with tectonic activity being one of them). The eruption caused a volcanic winter, the duration of which is disputed among scientists, though certainly no more than a decade. Though some scientists theorize that any effects in weather may have endured for no longer than three years. The Toba eruption is attributed as being a leading cause in a bottle neck in the Homo Sapiens population, to possibly as few as 10,000 people, and with possibly being a major contributor to the extinctions of Homo Erectus and Neanderthals.

All this being said, it needs to be understood that this event was an exceptional case of volcanic activity. The chances of the next Yellowstone eruption even equaling the magnitude of the Toba eruption are negligible. The chances that a comparable eruption could be an "extinction level event" for humans are effectively zero, considering the differences in human population dispersement of then and now. When the Toba eruption occurred humans occupied mostly native regions in Asia and Africa, with African populations being the predominant survivors from which the population was replenished. Scientific evidence indicates that the human population quickly rebounded and increased exponentially after the sudden decrease. A Yellowstone eruption the size of the Toba eruption would indeed have a great effect on the US, and could certainly lead to a decline in population over the next couple of generations. But the more likely case is that modern technology and economics would largely shield the ability of such an event from inflicting substantial damage to the US population, while other regions around the world might suffer more from any food shortages, due to the US having greater economic ability to secure scarce food than poorer countries.

Currently, there is no evidence that the Yellowstone hotspot will erupt in any forseeable future. A few years ago there was a sudden increase in the growth of the Yellowstone plateau. However, that subsided and returned to normal levels.

I've been keeping up on the Yellowstone Caldera for awhile now....they say it's been about 650,000 yrs since the last one and "could" go again any time, it's past due in fact. Where it's located and the way the wind blows...it could be what takes down America. If Obama doesn't do it first! (wanted to keep this political!! lol!)

This sucker would be devastating...Immediately before the eruption, there would be large earthquakes in the Yellowstone region. The ground would swell further with most of Yellowstone being uplifted. One earthquake would finally break the layer of rock that holds the magma in - and all the pressure the Earth can build up in 640,000 years would be unleashed in a cataclysmic event.
Magma would be flung 50 kilometres into the atmosphere. Within a thousand kilometres virtually all life would be killed by falling ash, lava flows and the sheer explosive force of the eruption. Volcanic ash would coat places as far away as Iowa and the Gulf of Mexico. One thousand cubic kilometres of lava would pour out of the volcano, enough to coat the whole of the USA with a layer 5 inches thick. The explosion would have a force 2,500 times that of Mount St. Helens. It would be the loudest noise heard by man for 75,000 years, the time of the last super volcano eruption. Within minutes of the eruption tens of thousands would be dead.

The long-term effects would be even more devastating. The thousands of cubic kilometres of ash that would shoot into the atmosphere could block out light from the sun, making global temperatures plummet. This is called a nuclear winter. As during the Sumatra eruption a large percentage of the world's plant life would be killed by the ash and drop in temperature. Also, virtually the entire of the grain harvest of the Great Plains would disappear in hours, as it would be coated in ash. Similar effects around the world would cause massive food shortages. If the temperatures plummet by the 21 degrees they did after the Sumatra eruption the Yellowstone super volcano eruption could truly be an extinction level event.

Fear not good citizens! I am on it...

Got an idea involving large amounts of beer, barbecue and lawn chairs...

If we were smart we would be figuring out a way to drill down, Tap the Magma, and pump it to the Sea to create new land while relieving pressure at Yellow stone.... LOL

If we were even smarter we would tap into that heat and use it as a source of free energy.

With the size of that magma chamber, we could probably light up all of North America for the next 100 years or so, and significantly lessen the possibility of being destroyed by a megadisaster in the process.

Some 30 days back, scientists have given a warning of magnitude 10 Earthquake hitting Earth.

If I read it correctly, then there is activity in yellow stone national park volcano which has a crater of 85 kilometers (not sure).

Everybody be prepared for the big one. It is coming. All of USA porn and prostitutes will feel Earth move.
Bring it on !! ( G.W. booosh) 2004.

I get earthquake alerts on my computer through google app. I have seen a lot of earthquakes sometime two or three in the same spot within hours of each other. But haven't seen one in the yellow=stone area in the past two weeks Japan has had 14 in the past week from 4.0 to 5.5 but nothing from yellowstone
