Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal on Monday called on Republicans to “stop being the stupid party” and make a concerted effort to reach a broader swath of voters with an inclusive economic message that pre-empts efforts to caricature the GOP as the party of the rich….
“We’ve got to make sure that we are not the party of big business, big banks, big Wall Street bailouts, big corporate loopholes, big anything,” Jindal told POLITICO in a 45-minute telephone interview. “We cannot be, we must not be, the party that simply protects the rich so they get to keep their toys.”

Jindal, a Catholic with a biology degree, indicated his own affirmation of the bill in a statement saying: "I will continue to consistently support the ability of school boards and BESE to make the best decisions to ensure a quality education for our children."
Critics of the law have countered it opens a backdoor for putting religious views that they claim would sacrifice science into the classroom.
The Louisiana Coalition for Science called SB 733 "a thinly disguised attempt to advance the ‘Wedge Strategy’ of the Discovery Institute (DI), a creationist think tank that is collaborating with the LA Family Forum to get intelligent design (ID) creationism into LA public school science classes."

On the one hand, there are scientists who appeal to evolution as evidence to reject faith in God. This is wrong. But, on the other hand, the attempt to turn religious faith into science is the same mistake, but in the opposite direction. Both creationism and intelligent design fail in this regard. Creationism is based on a wholly inadequate understanding of biblical texts. Intelligent design tries to pass off as science a philosophical position in a way that many Catholic theologians would find inadequate.
Finally, new scientific discoveries may challenge us to deepen our understanding of a biblical text or of a theological position. We believe, however, in the deepest sense, that there can be no ultimate contradiction. The Source of Truth is One, and that Source is God, the Father of Jesus Christ, in, through and for whom all things are created.

To join a religion and then to say the leaders of that religion are wrong is "stupid'.
To call your own political party "stupid" is, well, stupid.
To have magical beliefs when your church leaders say those beliefs are wrong is stupid.
To sign in to law letting people teach something as true, when you have no evidence, is
stupid.
To believe in something only extremist Christians and Muslims around the world believe in is stupid.
Republicans want enormous government when to comes to women's bodies and gays. No or very little government when it comes to the EPA or regulations that protect us from big business. They scared the American people, which was a stupid thing to do.
