Madd is Mad at Biden's stance on drunk illegals driving

Joe Biden told Vice News that he would not seek to deport drunk driving illegal migrants.

Immigration agents should “only arrest for the purpose of dealing with a felony that’s committed [in the United States], and I don’t count drunk driving as a felony,” Biden told his interviewers Jan. 20.

“We’re not going to deport anybody who has not — in this country — committed a felony in this country. In this country, committed a felony,” he said.

But many Americans have been killed by drunk-driving illegals, and DUIs are commonplace among illegals. For example, In fiscal 2019, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency arrested many thousands of illegals following DUI charges. The 2019 end-of-year report showed 49,106 criminal convictions for DUIs, alongside 39,717 traffic violations, 47,453 “dangerous drugs” convictions, and 26,156 assault charges.

Drunk driving is the Number 1 killer on America’s roads and a violent crime that MADD believes should be punished to the fullest extent of the law, regardless of the offender’s immigration status.

Drunk driving laws differ by state, and the fact that only four states charge a felony for a non-injury second drunk driving offense illustrates the enormous challenge MADD faces in helping to pass laws that will eliminate the horrible tragedies caused by drunk driving. In all drunk driving cases, MADD supports the victims and their wishes in the prosecution and sentencing of offenders who kill or injure someone.

Joe Biden Promises Sanctuary for Drunk-Driving Illegals

While MADD might not be a large voting block for the Democrats to be concerned about, I'm sure the victims of drunk drivers are. So why this position from Biden? Because illegals are more important to Democrats than Americans. They don't care if they come here and rape our women, molests our children, or even kill our people on the road. Just as long as they are here.

Real Americans better think on who they are voting for this November.
Personnaly, I consider any felony as a just reason to deport an illegal alien. Felony drunk driving included. Heck, I wish we could deport our home grown repeat felons, including felony drunk drivers. I have no sympathy for repeat felons, especially illegal alien felons.

IMO, I think they should throw them out of the country for a jaywalking ticket.

Really makes me wonder how many of these illegals even have insurance.

If you get down to why your opinion and mine differ from law, it probably goes back the the Supreme Court decision issued byhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Rehnquist William Hubbs Rehnquist (/ˈrɛnkwɪst/; October 1, 1924 – September 3, 2005) was an American jurist and lawyer who served on the Supreme Court of the United States for 33 years, first as an Associate Justice from 1972 to 1986 and then as the 16th Chief Justice from 1986 until his death in 2005. Considered a conservative, in the case of Leocal v. Ashcroft, 543 U.S. 1,

Leocal v. Ashcroft, 543 U.S. 1 (2004), held that aliens may not be deported after being convicted of DUI if the DUI statute that defines the offense does not contain a mens rea element or otherwise allows a conviction for merely negligent conduct.

I disagree with the distinguish conservative Supreme Court Justice, appointed by Richard Nixon on this one.

Perhaps once we get enough right-wing judges on the bench, the case can be heard again if it comes up. The US should be able to throw any illegal out of the country even if they did nothing wrong.

Totally agree on second sentence you posted. On the first, doubt if it comes up anytime soon. While I applaud MADD, they do not have near the following of the Roe vs Wade crowd to move things to the highest court. In searching, found the usual expected offerings of immigration/ambulance chasing lawyers, as you might think, in California of all places. Who'd have thunk it? zzzzz

It would still be a felony for Americans. Only illegals would get a pass.
We can lock them up for felony drunk driving, just as we do Americans, unfortunately cannot deport for it.

Perhaps now that Trump is looking at the problem of illegals in this country, he'll bring it up again.

Very well might. Not sure how much priority he would assign to it, in discussion or instructions to Barr. You know I'm no fan, but I do give them credit for staying busy.

I'm sure he would get a lot more done without all the obstacles the Democrats are trying to throw in front of him. I not only hope he wins reelection, but does so with a leadership change in the House, and perhaps more power in the Senate.

I don't mean to bump my own post (I hate when other people do it) but I wanted to post a related story, but didn't want to start a new topic about it.

In the case, Edgar Torres Gutierrez, an illegal alien registered under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, was given nearly $19,000 from the city of Laguna Beach in a settlement after being arrested in 2018 for driving under the influence, KABC reported.

The ACLU of Southern California filed a lawsuit on Gutierrez’s behalf, claiming he was illegally held by police for ICE agents.

“I acknowledge that and I am at fault for that and I am dealing with the consequences of that,” Gutierrez said of the charges. “What isn’t correct is for police to be working with ICE to deport a DACA recipient.”

The aforementioned member of Congress was Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., who was campaigning in Iowa for fellow democratic socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders. In an effort to demonize ICE, the freshman lawmaker encouraged people to tip off those in violation of the law if they see ICE agents in the area.

“Organizing is about tipping people off if you start to see that ICE and CBP are in communities, to try to keep people safe,” the radical Democrat said. “I’m not here to reform some of these systems, when we talk about immigration. I’m here because Sen. Sanders has actually committed to break up ICE and CBP. That’s why I’m here.”

DACA-registered illegal alien drunk driver awarded $19K for being 'illegally held by police for ICE agents'

Clearly Democrats are working against our country. Hope people remember at election time.

Clearly AOC is a Democrat that works against our country. True, I consider her an embarrassment to that party, but they did not elect her. She is truly an embarrassment to the little district in New York that elected her. If the Republican jerk before her had paid attention to his district, she would not be there. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Democrats and the Republican of that small district for stupidly giving her a national voice. I do not see a long career at US House level, as the "Peter Principle" will most likely come into play.

She is short lived. I read an article a few months ago how her constituents are not only unhappy with her, but embarrassed she's their representative. The damage she did to NYC by stopping Amazon is pretty unforgivable to the citizens there. I can foresee her back at the bar waiting tables in a couple of months.

However she is not alone with her views. They are shared by the left wing of the Democrat party about ICE doing their job in those particular states. Some have written laws against people (including police officers) that do contact ICE about a criminal illegal alien.

We have one party fighting for America and another party fighting against it. The party fighting against it are providing illegals more rights than the citizens themselves. Imagine sneaking into a country illegally, breaking even more of their laws, and then suing when you are arrested. There is no country in the world that would allow such idiocy except liberal United States.

  1. I don't drink alcohol. I am somewhat allergic to it, and even a small quantity gives me a terrible hangover without any pleasurable experience whatsoever.
  2. I don't like MADD. There's an old lady or a madam serving a little bit too much alcohol and cutting a little bit too much hair. It's the automatic "young man" auto insurance premium hike, and they pull the same scam on everyone, including old men and other women.
  3. When the "fullest extent of the law" is bulging out the front of the police officer's uniform pants like that, it is evident that the cops are drunker than the drivers they are bringing into court.
  4. MADD is against drunk driving, but not against "legal" and "responsible" drinking. One drink for a woman, two for a man, or something like that.
  5. If I really care to go to the liquor store myself, I can read the ingredients label on a sealed brand-name bottle and make my own decisions, just like everyone else.
  6. Otherwise, the female bartenders of the establishment who serve that shit to drivers and trespass them off the property behind the wheel need to be held accountable for it.
  7. The ignition interlock switch and other patented gimmickry? MADD is just going to hell for all that shit. It's a fucking red-light district.
