“…The president’s strategy is absolutely clear about the threat we face. Our enemy is not terrorism because terrorism is but a tactic. Our enemy is not terror because terror is a state of mind and, as Americans, we refuse to live in fear. Nor do we describe our enemy as jihadists or Islamists because jihad is holy struggle, a legitimate tenet of Islam meaning to purify oneself or [sic] one’s community.

A concise meaning of jihad

Noble Qur’an 2:190 Footnote:

“Jihad is holy fighting in Allah’s Cause with full force of numbers and weaponry.
It is given the utmost importance in Islam and is one of its pillars.
By Jihad Islam is established, Allah’s Word is made superior (which means only Allah has the right to be worshiped), and Islam is propagated.

By abandoning Jihad Islam is destroyed and Muslims fall into an inferior position; their honor is lost, their lands are stolen, their rule and authority vanish.

Jihad is an obligatory duty in Islam on every Muslim. He who tries to escape from this duty, or does not fulfill this duty, dies as a hypocrite.”

Jihad (Kitab Al-Jihad)
Dawud :: Book 14 : Hadith 2629
Narrated Isam al-Muzani:

The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) sent us in a detachment and said (to us): If you see a mosque or hear a mu'adhdhin (calling to prayer), do not kill anyone.

The biggest threat we face in the USA is the continuance of the Obama Reich with a Democrat Congress. We can handle everything else.

So in his mind who is the enemy? Other than U.S. that is. Come on Obama, put the hookah down man. Jihadists are "holy" fighters out to kill infidels and in their eyes we are all infidels! Stop pandering to the rest of the world Prez, you can't make everybody happy!

If one billion Islamic people were also Jihadists?

We would not be living in the world we're living in today.

To assume that every Islamic person was an enemy of ours is rather silly.

It would be as silly as assuming that every Christian is our ally, to be frank.

Your right, just like every religion or organization there are going to be extremists making the rest look bad.

To assume that every Islamic person was an enemy of ours is rather silly.
Again, you are correct the people of Islam are not the enemies. Just the majority of the imams running things are.

It would be as silly as assuming that every Christian is our ally, to be frank.
Amen to that Brother! If roles were reversed the Christians would be just as bad! Anybody who doesn't think there are Christians out there that wouldn't strap a bomb to themselves and blow a mosque up in the name of the Holy Trinity is wrong. Some of the scariest people I've met were "devote" Christans.

What do the actions of a billion people have to do with what is in the Koran and the Hadiths?

Do all Buddhists reach nirvana as is taught by their faith?

Do all Christians become saints?

The shaheed (martyr) is the highest of high in Islam in the eyes of Allah. Just because not all Muslims are mujahedeen does not change the fact that jihad is an intrinsic part of the religion.

This administration can't even say the words "jihadist" or "radical Islamic terrorist" anymore. You think just because they refuse to call it what it is, that the terrorists will play nice and decide not to blow up anything anymore, or anyone? The threats from El Sabbab and the other extremists groups have now zero'd in on the USA; they know they can be successful because of Hassan at Ft. Hood, and the wacky kid underware bomber and now Times Square. A few more intelligent terrorists will make sure they're boom-booms work.

We have come a long way from

Thus our strategy must match our means to two ends: dismantling the al
Qaeda network and, in the long term, prevailing over the ideology that contributes
to Islamist terrorism.

In addition to making anticipated findings on the 2001 plot and recommendations for homeland security, the commission offered a series of foreign policy prescriptions to correct what it suggests is an unbalanced global strategy. The effort is to shift the government away from focusing on what the report calls a "generic evil," and toward a more precise definition of the threat.

The report argues that the nation's enemy consists of two parts: al Qaeda -- a stateless network of terrorists that is "weakened but continues to pose a grave threat" -- and a radical ideological movement in the Islamic world that "is gathering and will menace Americans and American interests long after" Osama bin Laden is gone.

"The enemy goes beyond al-Qaeda to include the radical ideological movement inspired in part by al-Qaeda that has spawned other terrorist groups," the report said. It calls not only for the dismantling of al-Qaeda but an ideological battle against fundamentalist Islam.

He explained, “There is nothing holy or legitimate or Islamic about murdering innocent men and women and children.”

Did he ask how Islam defines innocent? I did.

I humbly disagree. The Administration is just a symptom of the greatest threat we face.

The greatest threat we face is our own corruption, our own lack of values, our own dishonesty.

The greatest threat we face is ourselves. And if we overcome that threat, it doesn't matter who is in power. Nothing will be able to stop us.

This is correct, failure to learn and accept the truth about personal liberty and responsibility and pass it on as something of value ,has brought us to this point of progressive utopia we now find ourselves .
Liberty hangs by the thinest thread at this point.
What files the vacuum when it is gone will be a nightmare.

A convert to Christianity and spy for Israel -- now that's the kind of guy the Obama DHS thinks of when it pictures a terrorist. "U.S. trying to deport 'Son of Hamas': Feds see 'terrorist' in Christian convert who spied for Israel," by Art Moore for WorldNetDaily, May 27 (thanks to all who sent this in):

The Department of Homeland Security is trying to deport the son of a Hamas founder who told of his conversion to Christianity and decade of spying for Israel in a New York Times best-seller.
"Son of Hamas" author Mosab Hassan Yousef revealed on a blog hosted by his publisher he is scheduled to appear June 30 before Immigration Judge Rico J. Bartolomei at the DHS Immigration Court in San Diego.

Yousef said the DHS informed him Feb. 23, 2009, he was barred from asylum in the U.S. because there were reasonable grounds for believing he was "a danger to the security of the United States" and "engaged in terrorist activity."

An incredulous Yousef said the U.S. government's belief he is a terrorist is based on a complete misinterpretation of passages of his book in which he describes his work as a counterterrorism agent for the Israeli internal intelligence service Shin Bet.

Yousef said he's not so much worried about himself as he is "outraged" about "a security system that is so primitive and naive that it endangers the lives of countless Americans."

"If Homeland Security cannot tell the difference between a terrorist and a man who spent his life fighting terrorism, how can they protect their own people?" he asked in his blog post.

Yousef said whatever Judge Bartolomei decides will be appealed, "and this insane merry-go-round can go on like that for decades."...
