Well then you'll really love this one. After parents have had their children confiscated by Britain's Fat Police Gestapo,they must agree to allowing the Government to install video cameras in their homes so the Government can monitor that they're caring for their children "properly." The parents may not get their children back from the Government if they don't agree to this. Yea you're right,this would be pretty hilarious...If it wasn't true. Socialism/Communism is an incredibly dangerous gamble at best. Fat Police Gestapos? Yikes!

Funny thing, is that here you are in the US talking about all this as if it's factual (while at the same time continuing to pedal the incorrect belief that the British government is Socialist / communist) yet I can't find any stories to back this up, nor have any of my British friends or family heard anything about this. Care to share where you're getting the information from? woudn't be the Daily Mail (AKA Hate Mail for it's racism and right wing agenda) would it?

And even if it were somehow true (rather than an absurd idea dreamed up by some silly think tank) - it would have nothing to do with socialism, since the UK government isn't Socialist (read a history of New Labour if you don't believe me).

Of course in terms of taking away freedom and liberties, how do you feel about the mass evesdropping and invasion of privacy perpetrated by Bush + Cheney after 9/11?

Socialism in Europe is not dead - it is simply diminished and becoming less popular of late.

There is a clear right of center (By European standards) across Europe, fueled primarily by the economic mess and immigration concerns.

I sat in on a symposium about two years ago where a panel member from Germany stated this very thing was going to take place for the next five or so years - and then from there, who knows?

Mass eavesdropping is wrong even when your own Government tells you "It's for your own good" like they do here and in Great Britain. My God,Great Britain openly spies on its own people with video cameras everywhere. If they are spying on their own people that openly,just imagine what they are doing secretly. Pretty scary thought huh? Great Britain simply convinced their people that openly spying on them was "For their own good" and they believed them.

Today's Brits have very little personal freedoms. Their every move is being monitored by their Government. That's why i always laugh when i see Brits preaching to the rest of the World about Human Rights and Freedom. Today's Brits have very little Human Rights and Freedom. They just think they do. They really are living an illusion. Socialism/Communism always takes you down that road where openly spying on the people and creating absurdities like Fat Police Gestapos become the norm. People should always be wary when their Governments say "But it's for your own good." When they say that you just know they're taking away more of your Freedoms & Liberties.

Western Europeans and especially the Brits,have very little personal Freedoms & Liberties. They just think they do. They really are just living an illusion. Great Britain openly spies on their own people and tracks their citizens' every move. It really is hilarious watching Brits preaching to the rest of the World about "Human Rights" and "Freedom" when they themselves have neither. Europeans have a very long History of willingly giving all of their Freedoms and Liberties away. That really is just par for the course for them. That's one of the big reasons we had to give them all the boot from our own country. So spare me that whole "Things are just soo wonderful in Europe though" stuff. Maybe they do have better Health Care in Europe but how many Freedoms & Liberties did they have to give away to get it? What did they have to give the Socialists/Communists to achieve that? In the end,we didn't want the oppressive European systems back when our nation was being founded and we certainly shouldn't want them now either. Hey,just one man's opinion though.
