This is something we've all been feeling and I've seen countless creators complain about it. It started with the non-PC right, but everyone will be affected.

All that would have had a lot more impact if each and every one of those complaining hadn't posted their complaints on Youtube.

What' the alternative?

It's one major problem with online, there may be many options but there is always one that is the most dominant, usually by far. The only solution would be if everyone decided to constantly post their videos on multiple sites, and/or if a site figured out some advanced method (seems far fetched to impossible) that would allow people to post on one site, and that site would simultaneously post on multiple sites.

Smaller companies need advertising revenue to expand and offer rewards to posters. They can't get advertisers without the context and views.

I think what will probably happen is that youtube will go 7-11 style franchising where it has nothing to do with the videos themselves but little franchisers will be broadcasting the videos while paying youtube a franchise fee each month, to the consumer the videos will look just like they do now but behind the scenes it will be a bevy of franchises running and maintaining the industry.
