I do find it interesting how quick some of the board's lefties come out in defense of Chavez! See they see their communist/socialist window closing. The Soviet Union is down, China is rapidly migrating to a free market system, Castro is dying etc. Their last hope in of a Communist/Socialist Utopia is Chavez.

Notice how I left Obama out of the last hope category, since I do not view him as a socialist or communist (even though he support big government)!

What is funny is that someone like Chavez just says whatever, and in a certain quarter some immediately start foaming at the mouth and pulling out their hair, a predictable gotcha, some are so easily jerked around!

So "chavez" said something. So what! What does Chavez matter in the great scheme? There are so many more important things!

(2) Robert Mugabe - Just Africa's must corrupt dictator (next to Libya and Sudan of course), who enacted some of the worst racist regimes in history! Yep he is a class act.
(3) Idi Amin - The former Uganda President. Who killed an estimated 300K people in a country of, at the time, 18 million people. Not at bad as Rwanda, but not that far off either. He kicked out minorities and basically brought an economy on the up and up into a downward spiral! Not to mention he was a huge support of Islamic terror!
(4) Mahoud Alamdouchebag - Is a dictator! Yes Iran has elections, but when the elections are rigged, then you have a dictatorship! This man's regime is one of the most repressive in the world. It's lead by an Islamic radicalism. His regime actively supports terrorism and is seeking to destabilize the world. His regime has single-handily destroyed a promising Iranian economy with his ill advised polices.
Fidel Castro - The brutal Cuban communist dictator. His presecution of political enemies (even potential political enemies) is legendary! Make no doubt about it, Castro was an evil man.


Chavez praises and looks up to some of the worst, evil and most brutal leaders and figures we know! How long before he praises Hitler, Stalin and the Taliban as righteous nationalist?

Chavez is a joke! He is corrupt dictator who keeps ripping the freedoms of the Venezuelan people. Very soon Venezuela will be a complete communist/socialist dictatorship with no private property or business and the Venezuelans will some of the most oppressed people in the world!

Obama is very careful with his words. Cut away the soaring rhetoric in his speeches, and the resulting policy statements are often vague, lawyerly and confusing. He is not plain-spoken at all. He parses his language so much that a casual listener will miss important caveats and qualifiers. That is why he uses teleprompters for everything, even routine policy statements that are as short as two sentences. He chooses his words very carefully, relying heavily on ill-defined terms like “deficit reduction” (which means tax increases, rather than actual “savings”) and “combat troops” (as opposed to “all troops in harm’s way”). He doesn't come out directly and say that he idolizes Hugo Chavez. He doesn't need to, he already has Hugo, Fidel, and every other 10 cent dictator in the world publicly praising HIM. It is always about HIM. Obama surrounds himself with like minded sycophants that are devout leftist ideologues. Therefore to reach the conclusion that Obama idolizes Chavez is not a far stretch........ and now some cartoons!!
