Look how divisive this board is...

The birth of the 24 hour news cycle outrage-a-thon and Internet anonymity is the reason for it.

I don't buy that at all.
The availability of information should never be considered a hindrance.
I submit that the information age has shone the light of day on those in office and made them more accountable. It should make them fearful. Yes, government should fear the people.

It is the same as Congress. There has to be an attitude change in Washington and across the country. Nothing will ever get done. We have appalling ratings in Congress and that is because the Republicans blame the democrats and the Democrats blame the Republicans.

We need leadership in this country that not only promises change but acts on it. The present administration has done the oppositie. He stood idly by while calling the Republicans "terrorists," and not urging the Super Committee that failure was not an option. He became enbroiled in states issues and even sued the states when they tried to enforce federal laws when the government again refused to do their job.

The Attorney General was another example of partisanship on the part of the White HOuse and not taking responsibility for promises not kept by this administration by following the law. Transparency was a joke.

We need change. Big change. At this point, any of the candidates running can be an improvement of what we have now. But it takes more than changing the leadership in the White House. We have to take the responsibility to urge our own representitives to debate openly and consider the country before their own party to make the difference.
The problem is our leadership positions are filled by politicians.
We should be voting for statesmen. People who's first priority is doing the people's business. Instead, we have career politicians who go to Washington to enrich themselves.

I agree, but a non-politician has a fuck of a time learning how to be a politician, and running for President is an awfully big stage to learn on.

That's why we need strict auditing of the taxes of Congress people and as Gingrich says, every law that apply to citizens should apply to Congress. No waivers to Health Care, either!

YOU did not MENTION the major contributor to this divisiveness.. THE MSM!
How can the general public get information that is used to form opinions that translate into votes for representatives WHEN the MSM is so biased?

There is so much truth in this simple statement. There are just enough of us who get their version of "the truth" from the MSM, that the outcome of any national general election is skewed and manipulated for favoring The Party of Governnent. The media only are watchdogs over government when government is in the hands of Republicans.

Those who call themselves liberals in this country amount demographically to about twenty percent and conservative about forty percent, with the balance not leaning either way and up for persuasion, but this is a center right country. For the Democrat party to hold the sway it does must be credited to the MSM, who are propagandists for their fellow ideologues. The influence of media bias translates into votes for Democrats, shifting elections as much as ten percent in most general elections, and more if the proportionality of political preference were interpolated.

It used to be that the 6:00 news would give factual news...all the news. Now main stream media doesn't bother to report anything that is not on their agenda andnewspapers hide it on page 17. Then come opinion newscasts that show thier biases and don't even have parties from both sides to comment.

Sheeple who just want their taxes the same keep crying about the 1% like it should be them wallowing in dough for not continuing in education or working up the ladder. Sure the 1% should pay more in taxes but no one focuses on themselves and how they can better their own lot in life to become one onf the better off.

Most have the opportunity to make more than what they make in life now. Trades people do it everyday. Don't tell me about the poor. They have opportunities, but choose to wallow intents cry foul. I don't have sympathy for most of them.

Look at the percentage out of work never finished highschool. How many never bothered to continue their education. How many choose to stay home instead of work accepting unemployment benefits. That's not how America is supposed to work.

Gingrich has the intellect and substance…

Perhaps but he’s comprehensively ignorant with regard to a number of important policies – this idiocy of hauling judges before Congress is the latest bizarre example.

The availability of information should never be considered a hindrance.

But is that information accurate and factual? Or is it twisted and distorted to inflame the base?
