lol, O'Reilly kills me with this lie

O'Reilly vs. Coburn: The Video Evidence (VIDEO)

No, I don't read the Huffpo, I got this from another forum, BTF.

Shit's good for some giggles.

O'Reilly challenges Senator Coburn to name "just one" FOX personality that said you'd be jailed for not getting Health Insurance.

He couldn't name any, and Bill said there aren't any, declared himself a winner.

Then came the research by the opposition media.

aaahahaha. Even on Bill's own show it was said. Oops! Good for a giggle.

I didn't watch your silly clip, but I have heard O'Reilly and others say that if you fail to pay the fine instituted for failing to purchase health insurance you may go to jail. It's a bit different than saying if you don't buy health insurance you go to jail. Technically Bill was right.

No he wasn't. No one on the left ever suggested you might go to jail. This is the same as "death panels" and "kill grandma" and "socialism".

Just more shit lies piled on more shit lies.

Then Republicans look all dewy eyed and innocent, "Who me? It was all a very slight and inconsequential misunderstanding", when we all know, it's another white wing lie. It's what they do best. What they are good at.

shrek-2-puss-in-boots.bmp

Fact is dumbass, if you fail to purchase health insurance the IRS will go after you and jail isn't out of the question.

It's going to stun you all when they take up the appropriations bill for this, next session. You might then wonder why they need an extra 900 billion for funding it, since it was supposed to be "deficit neutral."

That's another little trick -- as it stands, it could be said that it is. But the appropriations bill to fund it, will not be.

That's the rub.

not true. and further, if you did your due dilligence:

For most violations, like failure to pay taxes, the IRS can enforce penalties by imposing liens on taxpayers and by garnishing wages. But for health coverage penalties, according to the Joint Taxation committee, there is currently no provision for collection under health care reform, other than reminder letters or subtracting a penalty from any refund a taxpayer is owed.

And regardless, O'Reilly lied. He said that noone ever said "you'd go to jail for no health insurance"

--they did

= he lied.

If you had watched his show last night, and I did, (which is weird, because I rarely watch) you would have seen how the media has twisted what actually happened. The media is lying, the first healthcare bill did have a go to jail provision in it. And yes, they spoke the truth about that specific provision at the time. But according to Bill Orielly, the one recently signed, had it removed. So the word LIED or LIE, belongs to NBC and others. Even Time followed the Fox lied crowd

The current bill and the first draft are a little bit different

Yea, I somehow doubt they were lying by omission there.

ETA: back to the point: O'Reilly lied, and it was funny.
In other versions of this bill, the jail provision WAS in the bill! They re-worded the enforcement provision.

The bottom line is, you can STILL be prosecuted for not paying the "penalty." The IRS would decide that, not Congress and would decide it completely independently of this HC bill.

Whether O'Reilly "lied" or was simply mistaken is an open question. Because before this final bill was passed, Jail WAS in it, and it was hammered.

That's why they removed it. But under the tax code, it still applies.

He lied, because he made a declaration. He also should have been prepared for the interview with his facts, as he clearly was not.

Regardless, jail was taken out.

Also,

I wish it WAS in there. People who don't have insurance effect my Dollar Bills. They are not denied, someone pays. Since the poor are going to effect my dollar bills either way, I'd rather have a universal system where jackasses who actually COULD afford it aren't also leeching off of my dollar bills.

I wish they jailed the 47% of youse leeches who don't pay income taxes,, that affects my fucking dollars..

Go one minute into this video, you will see how very wrong you are. Pelosi and Obama was fine with people being sent to jail

Bahhhh
Go one minute into this video, you will see that at least 2 on the LEFT actually thought it was fine to send Americans to jail for not having healthcare insurance

I don't pay because I don't earn enough income. I'm retired.

Already PAID taxes on my earnings.

It is good for a giggle. I don't watch O'Reilly much but I checked this out before commenting.... Who is "misrepresenting the truth"? O'Reilly or the MSM?

Surprise, surprise, surprise.... It is the MSM. The clips from Fox are from the draft of the bill when jail time WAS included in the bill. To pretend otherwise is dishonest. To repeat this dishonesty is one of two things:

a. Ignorant - because you accepted the MSM's claim without checking.

b. Deliberately dishonest - because you knew it was dishonest and didn't care.

Which are you, GT?

You must still be making more than $14K a year. I'm not.

We are talking strictly federal income tax here, correct?

He didn't know it was dishonest, as his posts here clearly show.

He merely indiscriminately imbibed and regurgitated the kool-aid without a thought, or any independent fact checking. That is sloppy and careless, not dishonest.

GT is generally a straight-up guy. Hopefully we'll see his mea culpas on this, soon.

He claimed NO ONE said it on Fox.

He was wrong and there is tape to prove it.

O'Liely is a corporate shill just like nearly everyone on Fox.

c. you're a douchebag that can go fuck herself?

I'm going with C!~ It's Friday and all, if you have a few drinks it will help with your desirability

But the penalty is that you don't receive a tax credit that those who purchased health insurance are all receiving
No it's NOT, GT. And not everyone receives the credit! LOW INCOME people do!

The penalty is a FINE they levy on you if you are above a certain income level and as such DON'T QUALIFY for the credit, and can't show proof of government approved health care insurance! It has nothing whatsoever to do with the credit! Those getting the FINE wouldn't qualify for the credit anyway!

This FINE, if not paid, is subject to the TAX CODE just like your taxes or any other IRS fine or levy!

DAMN!

Thanking Truthmattersnot for regurgitating what has proven to be a LIE means you approve of the lie?

C'mon now.....

He said noone's said on FOX, that they won't go to jail if they don't buy health insurance, EVER.

He didn't say : in the new bill.

He didn't say "recently"

He said, EVER. exact words.

So, for all of you who said I regurgitated kool-aid and didn't fact check..............try your own fact checking: O'Reilly's own words.

Learn what EVER means, and no, he didn't qualify that with "regarding the CURRENT bill"

He said : "noone on FOX EVER said you'll go to jail if you don't buy health insurance"

Dispute it all you'd like, it's on hard copy.

We researched to find out if anybody on Fox News had ever said you're going to jail if you don't buy health insurance. Nobody's ever said it."

Sorry, there was no proven lie except Bill's.
