lol anthony weiner owns the gop on their own rules

The point of the rule was to make sure that anything that the House does, passes a constitutional check right up front.

While they failed to go by their own rule on this, and the Congressman called them on it. there was little doubt that this was not an unconstitutional act.

Simplest thing would have been for the Reps to provide one little paragraph to satisfy the rule.

But it all was a silly waste of time.

No. The actual petty PURPOSE was to do a little upstaging. The camera whore, Weiner (who took over the Congressional "seat" of the other infamous camera whore, Schumer, when that putz went to the Senate), saw a really good opportunity to tweak his opponents.

But again, whatever his motivation, he happens to have been right.

The legislation did fail to comply with the new Rule. So? Withdraw it. Do it correctly. No big deal. Make a point of doing it right each and every time. No short cuts.

Congress would be vastly improved if they would dedicate themselves to doing things RIGHT the first time, each time they take up ANY proposed legislation.

And I don't much care if withdrawing it and doing it right takes time. I don't CARE if they get nothing done. In fact, the less they "accomplish," as a general rule, the happier I am.

In MOST things they contemplate, daily, in Congress, I absolutely want gridlock.

Plasmaball has simply been sent to ignore. Not worth my time. You appear to have litle of value to add too L.K. Eder. It this the left's new tactic? Just distract and annoy versus engage in meaningful discussion?

Congress is much like this board, filled with petty assholes with nothing more on their minds than attacking people and not problems. What we should be discussing here is not only should a bill be Constitutional before reaching the floor, but it should be economically sustainable and something that only the federal government could accomplish.

will you sent me to rep hell?

All politicians lie and are out for their own good. It is just that the dimwits are socialists that I have a problem with. All of them have forgotten that they work for us.

All HR 358 does is defund abortion in Obamacare. Congress has the constitutional authority to spend tax money where it sees fit in making a budget, everyone knows this...except save Mr. Weiner apparently.

This bill has nothing to do with making abortion "illegal" or changing a woman's so-called "reproductive rights". Its simply Congress limiting itself on what they can fund.

So, unless he wants to argue that Congress doesn't have the authority to spend tax dollars, seems like a moot point to bring up.
