Logic Destroys Obama's Roanoke Declaration

Take a look at the connection...

"Connection" is code for "BULLSHIT" - so I stopped reading there.

This is why you'll never be any more than a second rater.

He is an astrophysicist, just ask him. Just don't ask him why Einstein felt he had to use the cosmological constant in the his theory of relativity.

. 1. In his Roanoke Moment, President Obama said the following:
"If you’ve got a business. you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen."
Your opening quote is a lie.

Kind of blows away the whole thread doesn't it?

Doesn't say anything about roads and bridges

Funny, that is exactly how the White House website quotes that line. Why would the white House lie about what Obama said?

It's not the line...it's the context

. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.

so??? everyone had parents and teachers and many other somebodies, living and dead, who contributed, directly and indirectly, to what happened?

Does Barry want simple recognition for the somebodies, a new tax payable to the somebodies who made that happen or just a new tax for himself cause he's a socialist , like his parents, and that's what socialists always want?

"We still find the greedy hand of government thrusting itself into every corner and crevice of industry, and grasping at the spoil of the multitude. Invention is continually exercised to furnish new pretenses for revenue and taxation. It watches prosperity as its prey and permits none to escape without a tribute."

PolitiFact | In context: Obama's

. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.

You said the quote is a lie. If the quote is accurate, it is not a lie, even if you take it out of context. Unless Obama is lying when he quotes Romney out of context when he says Romney said "I am not worried about the very poor."

I never saw so many try to convince readers that a person said what they wanted him to have said rather than what he did say. This is obvious, unless you want to believe what you want to believe, and the reality be damned.
What obama said is simple to understand if you actually want to.

Here's what he said (from here):
whitehouse.gov said:
If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.
That may be what we all understood but the next day he announced that wasn't what he meant; he told everyone the word "that" in "you didn't build that" was not referring to the "business" but rather to the "roads and bridges". So what he now says he meant to say was--
whitehouse.gov said:
...If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build roads and bridges. Somebody else made roads and bridges happen...
--which is even goofier. He'll probably change it again when he finds out that virtually all roads and bridges are build by private construction businesses.

The give-away is right here: "...the next day..."

As usual, in politics, the cover-up in worse than the crime....

I take schadenfreude picturing Michelle, when he got home.....
..."WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY???????"....

Think she rolled up a newspaper and swatted him with it?
Hillary threw lamps....

Karma.
The only time I ever saw a dark skinned dual citizen with a rolled up newspaper it was filled with smoked mullet from Collier county.:eusa_shhh:

You really need to learn how to read, and then, think. You are working hard to make a case for what rational people know is BS. Keep trying, it will not work for you. Most people know how to read, and think.

What obama said is simple to understand if you actually want to.

Which explains why Obama had to make two different ads to explain it.

Not actually. The reason he talked about the issue in adds is that it was a great opportunity to make those trying to twist his words lok like what they are: ignorant, dishonest, or both.

...PLEASE.....refrain from injecting logic into any discussion of Obamanomics. Thank you.
LOL!!! Like hearing the drunk yell at the pedestrian "HEY IF YOU DON'T LIKE MY DRIVING STAY OFF THE SIDEWALK!"

That is both funny and true...but this is a Lord Byron moment:
“And if I laugh at any mortal thing, 'Tis that I may not weep”

Apparently intelligent folks leaping to defend what is clearly an untruth....and they believe what they are saying!!!
So many of them are both intelligent and good too. OK, I know the custom of the left these days is to demonize those with political views different from theirs, but you and I don't do that. Just the same we're seeing good intelligent people lie to themselves out of a perverted adoration of a leader.

Sometimes good intelligent people do that, and yet mankind still raises an ever advancing civilization. There is no better proof of a loving and protecting Creator.

That might fly, if I were willing to believe that Obama actually meant the exact opposite of what the entire context of the speech was about.

We're reaching a point that when we hear the words and how they're delivered--

--everyone knows full well what's being said.

The antecedent of "that" isn't in the same sentence. That's how you're able to quote the sentence exactly but still leave off the antecedent.

That is what it means. Its in the sentence(s) immediately preceding the one you quoted.

I've seen some of the dumb things you've posted.....but even you can't believe the defense of this dolt that you're trying to provide.....

.....can you?

Just tell me you can....I've got my next post ready.

There's nothing that needs defending. The antecedent is in the sentence(s) before the one you quoted. I'm sorry you're wrong.

The antecedent is the noun or pronoun closest.
Even if yo are right, does anyone really think a restaurant builds roads and bridges? Is that really the point Obama wanted to make?
No, his audience understood the point: that success is simple the result of shared effort by "stakeholders", meaning the public. Therefore they are entitled to share in that success via taxes, or "giving back" in Obamaspeak.
Businesses have already given back. They give back in the form of taxes paid, wages and benefits paid, and products delivered to market.
No, Obama the great orator is a myth. No one can quote anything memorable by him, except "cling bitterly to guns and religion" and "if you have a business you didnt build that." Compare that with "MR Gorbachev tear down this wall" or "Freedom itself came under attack" and we see we are dealing with a midget here.

You're slippin' ol' timer:

'President Obama’s statement, made at a campaign rally in Virginia last weekend, that “if you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen”...'
Why Obama's 'you didn't build that' line may bite back - CSMonitor.com

Now....doesn't your post just prove what I said earlier, about you being the kind of reliable non-thinking supporter that the Left needs?

Good boy!

Wanna treat?

I realize you have a Masters Degree in cut and paste, but they should have taught you that when you highlight relevant text, you need to cover all relevant text not just the part that fits your twisted propaganda

If you had bothered, you would have posted

." Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen."

It is a shame what a poor product our colleges pass off as graduates

If I may....the Left-wing Janissary is using their version of "lie"...."anything that runs counter to the pronouncements of my masters."
