5 year ago prominent Russian dissident Alexander Litvinenko was murdered by exotic poison, Polonium-210 by alleged professional FSB killer Andrei Lugovoi.
The popular perception is that it was orchestrated by the Russian security services, and ultimately by President Putin. But more realistic version ‘ it was initiated by a single group in the FSB or GRU as an act of revenge to the traitor

Anyway now British authorities seemed to have no interest in reducing significance of this case. On the contrary, they kept up the pressure for the extradition of Andrei Lugovoi, and kept this dispute with Russia in the media focus. It is only in the past year, and in the run-up to David Cameron's visit to Moscow this autumn that British officials stopped raising the issue at every opportunity.

In the perspective of Putin´s coming ascent to presidency it looks as an additional argument to Cold-War-style deadlock with Russia

Lugovoi not gonna testify...

KGB man will not assist British inquest into Alexander Litvinenko
Tuesday 12 March 2013 - The chief suspect in the poisoning of former Russian security services officer Alexander Litvinenko has withdrawn cooperation from the inquest into his death and accused Scotland Yard of political bias.
Andrei Lugovoi said he was pulling out of the inquest because of Coroner Sir Robert Owen’s ruling last month that he would hear evidence that could imperil British national security in secret. Mr Lugovoi’s comments in Moscow appeared to be a calculated Kremlin snub to Britain on the eve of talks in London between William Hague, the Foreign Secretary, — who requested the secret inquest hearing - Philip Hammond, the Defence Secretary, and their Russian counterparts.

Mr Litvinenko, a former officer with Russia’s Federal Security Service and an ardent critic of President Vladimir Putin, died in London in November 2006 three weeks after drinking tea during a meeting with Mr Lugovoi at a hotel in Mayfair. The cause of death was a lethal dose of radioactive polonium. Moscow refused a UK request to hand over Mr Lugovoi in 2007 citing a constitutional ban on extradition of Russian citizens. A pre-inquest hearing in December last year heard the British government had a “prima facie case as to the culpability of the Russian state in the death of Alexander Litvinenko.”

Mr Lugovoi told a press conference in Moscow he had decided not to take part in the inquest, due to begin in May. He had not been expected to travel but it was thought he might give evidence by video link and that his lawyers would attend hearings. “The [inquest] hearing about secret documents will be behind closed doors,” Mr Lugovoi said. “Only a representative of the [UK] government and the coroner himself will take part. With that composition the process looks like a farce. Who will evaluate the reliability of the facts if the public doesn’t know about them?”

The comments chime with those made by Sergei Lavrov, Russia’s foreign minister, last week. Mr Lavrov told the BBC the inquest should consider “all information relating to the case”, adding: “I don’t think it will be in anyone’s interests to limit the access of the court and the public to this information.”

It's been more than 5 years and the jury is in now. It was Vladimir Putin that ordered the assassination. He had him murdered and the British have dropped the case. When Russia controls the monopoly on your natural gas you learn how to drop things that lead to the presidents doorstep. As to mention of an attempt on Putins life - that turned out to be an op from Vladimir Zhirinovsky's camp - a man Putin greatly fears - the Russians... you can never tell who's who, eh? I expect Zhirinovsky to replace Putin before His Final March to the South - Quest - kicks into gear. You didn't think he was going to allow Putin to lead that charge did you??? - Jeremiah

And Lugovoy is absolutely right in withdrawing his participation from this kangaroo trial!

As soon as Litvinenko's wife demanded all evidence to be disclosed, British Ministry of Foreign Affairs ordered some of the evidence to be kept secret!

Why?

Is it because there is more than enough of it to put Berezovski (a pet of Rothschilds who finances Islamists in Russian Caucasus, finances some of Russian opposition, and is suspected to be behind an attempt on Putin's life straight after the elections) behind bars?

Wrong. It was not Rothschilds who assisted Putin - it was the Solvay brothers in Belgium whose dynasty makes Rothschilds look like a housing project. Solvay is the maker of flouride, owns largest pharm cartels in world - makers of psychotropic drugs - zoloft - prozac - etc - makers of glass - wealthiest family in Europe. Etienne Davignon is the eldest Solvay ( changed his last name to hide who he was - most of them do ) and is head of Bilderberg. No, he isn't a Jew, he is a nazi sympathizer as was his father - friend of Hitler - Ernest Solvay. The Nazis always use propaganda to fool the people into believing Jews are behind the scenes when they are not. Look up Dennis Solvays honor Hitler graduation ceremony at his Solvay Business School in Belgium and see what you find. He is a close pal of Vladimir Putin. - J.
