Samsung announced it will enable users to use a desktop Linux on Galaxy S8 and Note 8. Therefore, they are currently developing an app called Linux on Galaxy, which will allow Linux to run on the devices and via the DeX docking station also on a monitor. Samsung is not setting a certain distro but allows to choose between distros and even to install several ones. This will allow users to install the Linux distros and programs of their choice - given they support the ARM CPU architecture.

If I actually used my not so smart phone as a computer that would be good news but I don't and have no intention of ever doing so. Basically it's an eh for me.
