Lindsey Graham needs a wife (or SO); he's obsessed with getting his face on TV and I for one am sick of him. He's totally negative and seems to believe his words are sufficient to nullify the past election.

[Hint to Graham, both sides and the great American middle are fed up with a do nothing Congress and the empty suits who tell us what we believe. You don't know what the American people want and some on your side of the issues get that and have STFU for now. Do the same, listen and don't speak - doing so will make the debate on issues smarter and more productive].

Angry with Obama, GOP threatens political war next year - CNN.com

The GOP needs new leadership, pragmatic, moderate and able and wiling to put Country First.

thing is, there doesn't seem to be anyone down in SC w/ enough wits to out-debate him in an election. He was a lawyer in the Air Force. Sometimes I agree w/ him but lately, no.

Of late he seems almost hysterical. I use that term carefully, not in any way is my intent to use it as a pejorative. Something is not right, with his experience he knows that on issues of national security it's best to keep debate in the house. On issues of economic reform it does not help and generally hurts the recovery by spewing threats and creating a climate of fear. In the latter it seems that remains the goal of the GOP leadership.

Republicans are just spitting mad because they have no chips left. They want to pretend that they have some negotiating leverage, but they know they have nothing. Threatening war? Really??? 600 filibusters isn't already "war"?

America spoke out against their platform and their tactics. Are they stupid? Or are they just too stubborn to admit a mistake?

Exactly how much influence does the John Birch Society have today? Is THAT what they are shooting for???

So why and what is Obama then negotiating?

Did you read the OP's linked piece? Graham is saying Obama ISN'T negotiating.

Whupping On Lindsey

"A Washington Post fact check on Monday determined that Graham's assertion that Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid would go "bankrupt" was overblown because "the facts do not justify such rhetoric."

"In this case we are going to bump Graham up to Three Pinocchios," the Post's Glenn Kessler wrote. "Not only did he repeat the error of treating all of Medicare as one entity, but he did the same with Social Security. Moreover, his reference to Medicaid makes little sense, even if one has very expansive definitions of the words 'bankruptcy' and 'imminent.'"

The Republicans held the House. The People's house.

You, and the rest of the wingnuts on this board, were predicting taking back the Executive, sweeping the Senate, and creating an overwhelming majority in the House. You lost big in the Presidential race, lost two more seats in the Senate, and lost 7 or 8 in the House.

Given the fact that the GOP has now added Disabled Vets and Native American Women to their shit list, we will see how you fare in 2014.

Yes, but given that polls indicate that most people want the tax hikes that Republicans are blocking and that most people will hold the GOP responsible if we go off the cliff, you tell me ... what's their play? What leverage do they have?

None.

... and the ones who "don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows" know it.
