I agree that Mueller did not exonerate trump on both the collusion and obstruction charges. He did say that there was no evidence of collusion and those words constitute complete exoneration of that charge. Exoneration occurs when a jury or someone in authority determines that a person is not responsible for a particular wrong. Exoneration can even take place when there is some evidence of wrongdoing, but not enough to be meet legal standards; a preponderance of evidence in civil cases and guilt beyond a reasonable doubt in criminal cases. Mueller did not exonerate Trump in the obstruction case, but instead elected to submit the facts, pro and con, to the Attorney General for a decision. The AG ruled that there was no obstruction, thereby exonerating Trump relative to that charge.

I agree that Mueller did not exonerate trump on both the collusion and obstruction charges. He did say that there was no evidence of collusion and those words constitute complete exoneration of that charge. Exoneration occurs when a jury or someone in authority determines that a person is not responsible for a particular wrong. Exoneration can even take place when there is some evidence of wrongdoing, but not enough to be meet legal standards; a preponderance of evidence in civil cases and guilt beyond a reasonable doubt in criminal cases. Mueller did not exonerate Trump in the obstruction case, but instead elected to submit the facts, pro and con, to the Attorney General for a decision. The AG ruled that there was no obstruction, thereby exonerating Trump relative to that charge.

The AG does NOT have the authority to charge a sitting President, so it is NOT the AG's call whether to charge. Specifically, BARR, does not have the authority, which he has said in his confirmation hearings. That authority lies with Congress, not the AG.

There have been reports that the FBI may have been interested in Carter Page as early as 2012. Thus, there may have more than one FISA warrant. Apparently, these warrants only last for 90 days, so they have to be re-upped.

My comment should not be taken as a factual assertion, just that this idea has been raised. I know no more about it than anyone else on USMB does.

FISA warrant protocol demands a re-visit every few months to determine if it still has merit to stay active & the feds have to demonstrate the need to keep them in force thru ongoing or new intel gathered from the last time the FISA court reviewed it.

And we haven't seen the Mueller Report. He filed over 100 charges against 22 individuals and corporation, so your assertions that the Russians didn't hack the DNC server, or coordinate with WikiLeaks to get Trump elected, is completely false. The evidence of that was filed in the indictments.

For your information, Steele himself admitted, under oath, that nothing in the dossier was verified. He further claimed that the documents were never intended to be presented as truthful.

Steele also admitted that most of the dossier was based upon on-line comments on what appeared to be a chat/gossip forum

CONCLUSION: Nothing in the dossier was verified. Further, Trump has been completely exonerated. Mueller found no evidence of collusion and the Attorney General ruled Trump did not obstruct justice. When an investigation finds no evidence of a crime, that is what normal people call exoneration.

THE FACTS: It was not a total vindication. Mueller’s exact words in the report, as quoted by the attorney general, say otherwise: “While this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.”

He did not use truth as a defense, but instead said that he never intended his dossier to be considered truthful. He instead presented it as unverified data that someone might want to investigate and verify.

that article is 2 years old. but besides that, all i can say is nixon didn't break into watergate himself, but obstruction was certainly one of the 3 articles of impeachment he was facing.
