I haven't yet been able to find a story online to provide a link to, but a friend of mine went to a Linda Ronstadt concert here in Vegas this weekend. He, like me, is an ardent Bush supporter. About 1/2 way through the concert, she dedicated her song "Desperado" to Michael Moore. My friend told me she was nearly booed off the stage and that many, like himself, walked out.

This morning on the news they mentioned something about it, but I have not yet been able to find a story on the RJ's website. As soon as I find one, I will post it. I heard that something similar happened to her in LA recently after she made pro MM comments during a concert there.

The media keeps hyping up the anti-Bush rhetoric and therefore, it looks like a lot of Americans don't like Bush. However, I have a feeling that those that like Bush far outnumber those that don't. You see it in public displays such as this even if you don't see it in the media. These kinds of displays truly reflect what America thinks. I mean hell, the recent Woopie incident points even more favorably in Bush's direction than the media would have you believe. The owner of SlimFast is a HUGE democratic fundraiser, so he must have really been under pressure from his customers for him to do what he did.

It makes me feel better every time I hear about us Americans letting our voices be heard ABOVE those in the media.

HERE WE GO!

Even better, apparently the HOTEL made her check out of her room after the concert as she was no longer welcomed.
When her show was over, the Aladdin had her checked out of her room and escorted off the premises.

Good for them. They should have had her bags sitting on the sidewalk while she was still on stage.

Why did she even agree to give the concert if she has the attitude "If I annoy them enough, maybe they wont ask me back"... I'm a little confused about that one.

Greed. Plus, it gave her a platform in which to blab her anti-Bush rhetoric. Every day the entertainment industry is putting more and more nails in their coffins. There is a growing backlash building up against the media elite and it going to cost them dearly if they are not careful.

I bet it is a cold day in Hell before Linda is invited back to play anywhere in Vegas.

I guess thats what happens when you have to face consequences for the things you say. Of course she will play the martyr and say she is being persecuted for her beliefs.........

No she will say she is being "censored". That is the code word for "its not fair. WAA WAA WAA!"

Hmmm...Is Linda Ronstadt's career strong enough to make it through too much political mouth running?!!

:D

Wow! Now there is someone that knows her audience.I'll bet her agent was shittin kittens when he heard her do that. Don't these people realize that they are selling themselves?

After she dedicated "Desperado" to MM she should have dedicated "Your'e No Good" to herself.

it has been getting a lot of coverage even on the major networks. from what I am hearing, the place almost erupted into a riot with people tearing down her posters and calling her some not so nice names.

it's funny, if you listened to the media, you would think that the majority of Americans agree with her and MM but each day something else happens that makes the rest of us realize we are not alone in our disdain for Hollywood and the leftist liberals trying to control the minds of our citizens through CNN/ABC/CBS generated propaganda.

I'm sure she proclaimed her support for Moore, or lack of for Bush before the dedication, but I'm a little unclear on the songs meaning, and the dedication to Moore. Is the song supposed to be about a loner fighting the good fight, or and idiot who needs to get a grip? I'm not an Eagles fan BTW.

That's rediculous.

"Early in the show she told the crowd not to expect her greatest hits and added a snide remark or two about Las Vegas and the Aladdin. Scores of fans filed out when Ronstadt made her dedication to Moore and his controversial political film. "

"Squyres said Ronstadt "inaccurately" told the crowd she saw a billboard that promoted a greatest-hits show. Ronstadt's camp had provided and approved all ads, commercials, billboards and news releases, Squyres said. "

I would bet that she was under contractual agreement and that her actions and words broke such a contract. So no its not rediculous, she did not perform to her agreement.

Singer Linda Ronstadt Ejected by Las Vegas Casino

Mon Jul 19, 6:54 PM ET Add Entertainment - Reuters to My Yahoo!

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Singer Linda Ronstadt (news) was thrown out of the Aladdin casino in Las Vegas on the weekend after dedicating a song to liberal film maker Michael Moore and his movie "Fahrenheit 9/11," a casino spokeswoman said on Monday.

Ronstadt, who had been hired for a one-show engagement Saturday night at the Las Vegas Strip casino, dedicated a performance of "Desperado" to Moore and his controversial documentary, which criticizes President Bush (news - web sites) and the U.S.-led war in Iraq (news - web sites).

That dedication angered some Aladdin guests who spilled drinks, tore down posters and demanded their money back, said casino spokeswoman Sara Gorgon.

"We had quite a scene at the box office," she said.

About a quarter of the 4,500 people in the audience got up and left before the performance had finished, Gorgon said.

Before her concert, Ronstadt had laughingly told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that she hoped that the casino performance would be her last.

"I keep hoping that if I'm annoying enough to them, they won't hire me back," she was quoted as telling the newspaper.

A statement issued by the Aladdin said Ronstadt had been "escorted out of the hotel" just after her performance and said the performer would "not be welcomed back."

"Ms. Ronstadt was hired to entertain the guests of the Aladdin, not to espouse political views," the casino said.

Ronstadt was not immediately available for comment.
